This book has fewer than 4,000 followers, but since I’ve already started, my plan is to write earnestly and diligently, to give you all a proper account, and to offer myself one as well.

Those of you who read often can probably tell that I have some literary foundation; no one would believe I’m a newcomer. I’ve been writing for several years, but always relying on luck. My best achievement was an acclaimed work—a premium title, in fact, on Genesis.

Since then, I’ve wanted to transition to Qidian, to try new genres. But lacking the necessary skill, I struggled with plot and character control, and couldn’t highlight the exciting moments. After enduring a few rounds of criticism, my mindset crumbled and I abandoned the project.

Rest assured, that won’t happen this time!

Before starting this book, I met up with several fellow authors. We spent a day together, and while singing at KTV, an industry heavyweight pulled me aside for over an hour of instruction. I learned a great deal.

There was another premium author nearby, and between the two, I felt pressed from both sides.

These experts taught me many nuances of web novel writing: rhythm, structure, setting, and more.

In the past, I understood these principles in theory, but when it came time to write, I’d forget them entirely.

This time, I’m committed to building a solid framework, reading extensively, and communicating more with other authors to keep my mindset steady. After all, ups and downs are normal in writing; as long as you gain experience, it’s all growth.

If you always abandon and restart, you’ll forever be relying on luck, and it’s hard to succeed through skill alone.

Let me speak about some early issues with this book.

The “Velvet Flower Spirit Tree” golden finger subplot was planted, but many details weren’t handled well. Apart from a few minor setting errors, I didn’t write the character “Qin Ji Yue” properly, leading to ongoing efforts to fill in her gaps. It stemmed from my insufficient skill at the start and the pressure to update regularly; some things were glossed over.

I regret it deeply and reflect on it.

During that period, I constantly worried I wouldn’t do the book justice, so my writing was timid—two thousand words per chapter took over two hours. (Now it’s better; I finish in about an hour, and the jokes and references come naturally.)

Each day after waking, I avidly search for books to study how to write immortal cultivation novels.

Because I was out of touch with the market for two years, I stepped on many pitfalls in writing, endured a storm of criticism, and eventually lost my motivation and abandoned the work.

Readers following to the latest chapters may notice the quality has improved compared to the beginning—at least, I believe so.

Please rest assured, dear readers, that some things couldn’t be explained in detail before the launch, but once it’s live…well, you know what I mean.

As of now, the book has 3,727 followers; tonight, I expect it to reach about 3,800.

I’ve also asked my editor about the tracking readers—over 400.

But the initial subscriptions will mostly be lower rather than higher, so I estimate around 350 for the first subscription.

That’s already very good!

At least, this is the only book in two years where I’ve managed to stabilize and reach the launch without losing my resolve, so I will certainly finish it, and promise both quality and quantity.

Because I want to achieve a premium title through my own ability, you needn’t worry about updates.

The plan is a minimum of 10,000 words daily, two chapters, each about 5,000 words (on Yuewen, that’s 25 coins per chapter).

For bonus updates: one chapter for the chief, two for the alliance leader, and for each branch leader, 1,000 words will be added. I’ll keep stacking them, and won’t let your tips go to waste.
