Chapter Thirteen: The Threads of Jupiter (3)
After listening briefly, Jane said, "Why would the renowned Klein Magic Academy, whose reputation spans half the globe, come all the way here just to frame you?"
Master Yu Ran pondered for a moment, then asked, "Could it be that Yin You Weiyu?"
Hua Sheng recalled the scene he saw when piercing through the Suixing Silk and said, "I believe the Suixing Silk wasn’t stolen by Weiyu. Since Yin You comes from the future, she doesn’t belong to this era. Moreover, she was already wearing the Suixing Silk long before the silk was lost. It could never have been made from temporarily stolen Suixing Silk!"
Jane replied, "If it was one of your own who stole the Suixing Silk, of course they could travel back in time!"
Hua Sheng shouted, "There was indeed someone among us connected to the Suixing Silk, but from what we’ve learned, that person is from over a thousand years in the future—more than a millennium apart from the time the Suixing Silk went missing! This time discrepancy makes it irrelevant to the current matter!"
Master Yu Ran asked Hua Sheng, "How do you know this?"
Hua Sheng explained, "Master, when I pierced through the Suixing Silk with my Golden Cudgel, I was possessed by the spell on the silk, so I saw these details."
Yu Ran narrowed his eyes thoughtfully but did not respond.
Jane shouted, "If your Academy is shielding one of your own, don’t blame us for being ruthless! When it comes to magic, you Easterners can’t compare to the West!"
"Rubbish! You bunch of foreign devils! Come and try if you dare!" declared Xuan Wen.
Both sides were on the verge of conflict.
Master Yu Ran raised his hand to calm Xuan Wen and said, "Young lady, if indeed there is a thief among our disciples, we will not only return the lost Suixing Silk but severely punish the culprit. This matter is serious, and our Academy will investigate thoroughly."
Jane seemed unsatisfied with Yu Ran’s answer.
"We don’t care who stole it, but since it’s your disciple, the Magic Academy is inevitably involved!"
Yu Ran replied, "Perhaps the Academy is involved, but if we can’t find the thief, how can we retrieve and return the silk?"
"We’re here today to search for it!"
Jane’s words sparked another commotion.
Both sides were tense.
Mie Ying sneered, "What a joke! You lot? We’re not even worth the crumbs for this little lady!"
"Hmph! You’ll probably lose your teeth before then!" came the retort.
Jane opened her red grimoire and traced an orange hexagram in the air.
A tremendous heat surged, turning the green leaves on nearby trees brown instantly.
"Blazedragon!" Jane shouted as a ring of towering flames erupted around her, spiraling swiftly. The fire twisted and roared, forming a massive fireball.
A fiery dragon, as large as a building, emerged from the flames.
The dragon’s body burned fiercely, with sharp fangs and two enormous flaming wings as vast as a football field spread behind it. It descended heavily to the ground, sending a tremor that made everyone’s legs numb.
The recently withered trees immediately caught fire from the dragon’s intense heat.
Amid the dragon’s deafening roar, the charred leaves scattered in the wind.
Then the dragon unleashed a torrent of blazing fire toward Hua Sheng and his companions.
"Watch out!"
Worried the flames might harm innocents, Hua Sheng raised his Golden Cudgel and rushed forward to block.
But before he could take more than a few steps, a figure surged ahead from behind.
Holding a long sword, the figure shouted, "By urgent decree, ice magic!"
The sword danced, forming a swirling blossom of sword energy that instantly conjured a fierce blizzard net, firmly blocking the dragon’s fire.
Focusing, Hua Sheng recognized the figure as Tian Ji.
The dragon’s flames were fierce, quickly melting the icy net. The blizzard was about to fail, and Tian Ji was nearly engulfed by fire.
"By urgent decree—"
Hua Sheng was about to rush in, but Tian Ji shouted at him, "Get lost, insect! I can handle this myself!"
Suddenly, the dragon gasped sharply, as if choking. It coughed violently, struggling to breathe fire, its throat seemingly blocked.
Seizing the moment, Tian Ji sheathed his sword and struck the coughing dragon with a palm, shouting, "By urgent decree!"
The dragon, caught off guard, slammed backward as if hitting a mountain, crashing down with a thud.
Its burning body rolled across the ground, leaving a fiery trail, finally collapsing hundreds of yards away.
Tian Ji landed gracefully, turning to Jane and declaring, "The Magic Academy will not tolerate your antics. Leave at once!"
Hua Sheng admired Tian Ji’s skill and was about to praise him.
"Tian Ji is amazing—"
But before he could finish, a chorus of female disciples erupted in screams nearby.
"Ah! The registrar is incredible! Top of the Academy!"
"Invincible and so handsome!"
"I’m about to faint from how handsome he is~~"
Amid the deafening cheers, Hua Sheng’s urge to greet Tian Ji vanished instantly.
"Luck sure helps, makes everything easier," Hua Sheng muttered, turning his praise into a sarcastic remark.
Tai Shang Xiao Jun comforted him, "Indeed, tall, handsome, and lucky—don’t take it too hard."
"Are you comforting me or mocking me?" Hua Sheng glanced at Tai Shang Xiao Jun.
"Remember when he slapped you at Lake Star Pavilion? After the Battle of Qian Kun Guard, he was grounded for a month. Tian Ji probably still resents you," Tai Shang Xiao Jun said.
Hua Sheng suddenly recalled, realizing how much time had passed—it felt like a different world.
Meanwhile, Jane was about to summon the dragon again.
A tall, blond mage holding a staff stepped forward and stopped her, saying in French, "Jane, the other is stronger than we thought, but we should first return to school to gather more people."
Jane was momentarily stunned. The mage whispered softly, "I understand."
Jane then turned to Master Yu Ran and said, "This matter is far from over! You have three days! At 8 PM the day after tomorrow, we will return! If you don’t hand over the Suixing Silk, Klein Magic Academy will crush the Magic Academy!"
"You foreign devils,I'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
