Chapter 100: The Yinque Immortal Mansion
“Success! Transforming the form is easy, but to skillfully control this Vajra Dharma Manifestation requires continuous cultivation following the Lotus Sutra’s divided mind method,” Lin Feng concluded, focusing inward and entering meditation to gradually restore his mental energy.
The Great Vajra Universal Dharma Vajra, like an external incarnation, was controlled as deftly as one’s own fingers. Such an external incarnation divine ability was typically achievable only by those at the Nascent Soul stage, yet here it was realized by a Foundation Establishment disciple. Anyone witnessing this would surely exclaim in admiration.
For several consecutive days, various techniques were alternately practiced, continuously advancing. After successfully refining the Great Vajra Universal Dharma Vajra, Lin Feng attempted to refine the anger thought but could not form a solid entity—only a shadowy illusion. As for the greed thought, it was even more elusive; not even a shadow could be gathered.
“Delusion, greed, and anger are inherently interconnected. It seems I was right. From now on, I must rely on cultivating the Buddhist scriptures to enhance my mental power and then gather the other two Vajras,” Lin Feng pondered deeply, gazing at the distant mountains.
Refining the three divided minds of delusion, greed, and anger is an unparalleled secret technique in Buddhism, not truly severing these thoughts. Even after retracting the Vajra Dharma Manifestation, the delusion thought still lingers in the heart.
Suddenly, a deep rumbling echoed through the mountains. Several beams of golden light pierced the clouds on the horizon, radiating auspicious energy that attracted countless celestial cranes and exotic birds soaring toward the distance.
From several other peaks of Mount Qiyun, sword lights shot forth in succession, all aimed toward the boundless sky.
“Could it be... the emergence of a treasure?” Lin Feng suddenly recalled the news he had overheard at Lotus Town a month ago, his heart trembling. He summoned the Ink-Extended Sword and charged toward the wilderness bathed in that radiant treasure light.
Across the vast forests and snow-capped peaks, more than a dozen glimmers raced ahead, seemingly guiding him in the right direction.
The dazzling brilliance persisted for a long time without fading. The wilderness was unusually lively, with beast roars and the chorus of myriad birds, as if celebrating or anticipating something.
This sword flight covered thousands of miles. As the treasure light drew nearer, Lin Feng finally saw beneath the clouds a cave glowing intensely with golden light, jutting toward the sky on a steep mountainside. This mysterious place was occupied by more than a dozen people hovering in the air, clearly divided into four factions.
At a glance, he recognized two groups: one led by Feng Yiyuan, Chen Yuxi, and four other disciples from the Hundred Flowers Sect; the other led by Leng Linglan and the golden-armored man from the Demon Cult with four others. The remaining two factions were unfamiliar to him. One group’s attire was varied, blending Daoist and secular styles, seemingly a coalition of several small sects led by an elderly Daoist. The other group bore arrogant expressions, cold faces, and loose-fitting garments. Their magical implements were unusual—cones, bottles, even items shaped like stones. Their leader was a burly man wielding a jet-black staff-like treasure, crowned with a somewhat incongruous jewel-encrusted headpiece, emanating a murderous aura that betrayed no kindness.
With a whistle, Lin Feng descended from the clouds and stood beside Feng Yiyuan. The Hundred Flowers Sect members nodded slightly in greeting. Across from them, Leng Linglan, dressed in white as pure as snow, glanced at him once. When Lin Feng met her gaze, her profile lifted slightly, her face as cold as freshly fallen snow.
None of the four factions were eager to enter the cave. They stood in a cold standoff, each evidently wary of the others.
The golden-armored man from the Demon Cult chuckled, “Everyone, the Immortal Mansion has opened today. Those destined may obtain treasures. In my opinion, we should all set aside past grudges and explore together.”
---
“Huangfu Yi, our debts are still unsettled. Are you afraid?” Feng Yiyuan smiled.
“Afraid of you?” Huangfu Yi laughed heartily, “Very well. Since the treasures in the Immortal Mansion are limited, let us give way and settle this once more!”
“With pleasure!” Feng Yiyuan laughed loudly, soaring on his sword. Huangfu Yi followed closely, and the two dashed deep into the boundless clouds.
With their departure, the Hundred Flowers Sect and the Demon Cult’s forces lost much momentum. Only Chen Yuxi and Leng Linglan remained at the forefront, both scowling silently.
The assorted scattered cultivators from various sects were led by the elderly Daoist in green robes, who chuckled and cupped his hands, “Fellow Daoists, the Immortal Mansion waits for no one. It’s best to enter and see for ourselves.”
“Who are you? Do you have the right to speak here?” The burly black-robed man’s eyes widened with rage, his subordinates immediately backing him up, fists clenched and heads raised as if ready to devour the old Daoist.
“This Daoist is Yuan Qianzi of the Thousand Mountain Spirit Power Institute,” the green-robed elder smiled slightly, “I believe I can speak on behalf of our brethren.”
“Yuan Qianzi?” The Hundred Flowers Sect members showed surprise. The Thousand Mountain Spirit Power Institute is one of the Six Institutes, a relatively powerful righteous sect. A Daoist bearing the ‘Yuan’ generation title would be a second-generation disciple with formidable cultivation.
“What nonsense about ‘Yuan Qianzi’ and ‘square hammers’? I don’t believe you! Brothers, chop this old man down first, then we’ll take the treasure!” The black-robed man slammed his palm, and his great staff transformed into countless shadows of rods that struck toward Yuan Qianzi’s head.
“Boom!” The magical weapon hit before Yuan Qianzi but was blocked by an enormous silver bracelet that radiated golden light, shaking the entire space violently.
Meanwhile, more people hurried from all directions through the clouds, converging like a bustling market. Beyond Mount Qiyun’s wilderness, countless cultivators pounded their chests in frustration, wishing they could sprout wings and fly to glimpse the treasures.
“Not good! The Immortal Mansion is about to close!” someone shouted sharply during the duel.
The massive rocks flanking the radiant cave entrance were slowly closing, leaving only a narrow passage barely wide enough for two.
“Quick, go in!” Chen Yuxi barked, rushing toward the cave. She was fast, but Leng Linglan was faster, entering the cave before anyone else could voice a protest.
Lin Feng and the others scrambled to follow, pushing their magical implements to the limit, unleashing all their skills as they shot into the cave like lightning.
---
Yuan Qianzi and the black-robed man hurriedly retracted their moves and raced toward the entrance. With a thunderous crash and a torn corner of Yuan Qianzi’s Dao robe, the cave sealed behind them.
“You old Daoist! If you hadn’t caused trouble, how would only three of my men have entered? I’ll kill you!” The black-robed man growled, grabbing his staff to fight Yuan Qianzi.
“Scoundrel! You stirred up trouble and blame others? I, Yuan Qianzi, will settle this with you today!” The old Daoist’s anger flared. Just entering the cave, he was nearly crushed to death—this man was utterly unreasonable. What could be tolerated, and what could not!
“Enough, both of you!” Leng Linglan turned her back to them, her tone as cold as winter air.
Yuan Qianzi snorted and stood beside the Hundred Flowers Sect members. The black-robed man rubbed his head, rolled his eyes, and stopped mentioning fighting.
Everyone looked around the cave. Some unknown master had coated the cave walls with a layer of golden lacquer—high-grade purple gold no less—illuminating the cavern splendidly like a palace without any light source. Apart from this, the cave was empty except for a single downward passage.
Lin Feng tapped the cave entrance, the metallic sound ringing like iron striking gold, seamless without the slightest gap. Outside the cave, the latecomers and those who had failed to enter raged, attacking the mountain with various methods. Yet, surrounded by the glow of magical treasures, golden lights circled the cliff, absorbing all attacks.
“It’s useless! Stop hitting it! This is a formation!” someone shouted sternly.
“What now? We came all this way for nothing! We can’t let them monopolize the Immortal Mansion’s treasures!”
“Yes! Let’s guard here!” Among them were a small number of cultivators from various places drawn by the fame, along with many inner disciples of the Hundred Flowers Sect and numerous wild demon cultivators.
Inside the cave, everyone’s expressions were grave. They stared at a golden-screened wall at the end of the passage, its characters glowing brilliantly and clearly, as if engraved on rippling lake water. Though they knew this formation led to the treasure chamber, none dared to be the first to step forward:
“Yinque Palace, Yellow Springs Road, life and death hinge on a thought, immortal treasures can all be sought.”
