Chapter Fifty-Nine: The Escape
When Liu Ping spoke these words, even Meng Shang was moved; the reaction from the Jade Hairpin Flower Goddess, who knew nothing, was only natural.
Liu Ping shook his head and said, “There’s no time to explain everything. I have only one question—do you trust me?”
Meng Shang replied without hesitation, “I trust you, sir!”
The Jade Hairpin Flower Goddess, just about to voice her doubts, widened her eyes at this. Usually dignified and mature despite being the younger sister, Meng Shang had silenced every dissenter through her achievements. Such a strong and independent Deputy Envoy actually chose to trust this man without reservation?
This shocked and astonished the Jade Hairpin Flower Goddess, and she was filled with curiosity toward the man before her. What was so special about him that he earned the Deputy Envoy’s unwavering trust?
Lost in thought, she forgot to answer. Liu Ping frowned and urged, “Jade Hairpin Fairy, time is running out—please trust me.”
“Alright.” The Jade Hairpin Flower Goddess, overwhelmed by her wild thoughts, agreed almost as if compelled by fate.
Her straightforward answer surprised Liu Ping, but he didn’t dwell on it. His question was merely to prepare them mentally, not to solicit actual input.
“Follow me closely.” No sooner had he spoken than Liu Ping rushed forward. Understanding the structure of this dream, he could exert power far beyond even the half-step Earth Immortal Meng Shang and the Jade Hairpin Flower Goddess. Even slaying the monster would only require effort; however, escaping now required a different approach, which proved even more difficult than killing it.
Meng Shang followed at once, and after a brief pause, the Jade Hairpin Flower Goddess quickly caught up.
Their swift movements were like the wind, and the enormous peachwood monster clearly noticed Liu Ping, its eyes glowing red as it locked onto its target and raised its massive hands high.
Boom!
It smashed down fiercely, shaking the ground violently.
Liu Ping dodged aside, rolling twice; though a bit disheveled, he avoided the blow.
He sprang up quickly, pushing off the ground and leaping high, landing atop the monster’s hand.
“Roar!” The creature bellowed, swinging its other hand in a fierce arc.
Liu Ping evaded, and the hand crashed into the other, shattering in a burst of splintered wood that shot outward like arrows.
The shards, resembling arrows, filled the air, causing both Meng Shang and the Jade Hairpin Flower Goddess to feel a surge of danger. If struck, the consequences would be dire.
Liu Ping, quick-eyed and deft-handed, seized a piece of peachwood and, using it as a sword, poured his spiritual energy into it. With a lofty sword intent, he raised it high and swept it horizontally.
With this strike, all the splinters were pulverized to dust.
Without pausing, Liu Ping swung twice more, striking the monster’s knees, causing it to collapse heavily to the ground.
“Amazing!” exclaimed the Jade Hairpin Flower Goddess, astonished. She could easily do such things outside, but in this dream, her power was reduced to a fraction, making Liu Ping’s display all the more impressive.
“Sir, you are magnificent!” Meng Shang’s face was alight with excitement.
“Come quickly!” Liu Ping called loudly, heading straight for the monster’s mouth.
Everything happened in an instant—after felling the monster with two sword strokes, Liu Ping felt no satisfaction, for the surrounding peach trees were converging, and the monster’s wounds were already regenerating.
If they didn’t act swiftly, the chance would be lost.
The monster, seeing Liu Ping approach its mouth, was overjoyed and opened wide, swallowing him without hesitation.
Meng Shang and the Jade Hairpin Flower Goddess, witnessing this, felt fear, but at this point, they could only trust Liu Ping. Steeling themselves, they followed him and jumped into the monster’s mouth.
The moment they entered, they felt the world spinning, on the verge of fainting, when a sharp voice rang out.
“Focus—do not let your mind wander!”
The voice pulled them back from the brink of unconsciousness.
If the Jade Hairpin Flower Goddess had fainted, the dream would have restarted, ruining everything—Liu Ping secretly broke into a sweat.
A tearing sound, as if something had shattered.
Then the three landed firmly on the ground.
Meng Shang and the Jade Hairpin Flower Goddess were still dazed, surveying their surroundings. “Where are we?”
They found themselves amid luxurious halls, crimson gates, and tall walls stretching endlessly—majestic and grand.
Liu Ping, looking at Meng Shang’s adorable expression, couldn’t resist pinching her cheek and smiled, “This is another dream.”
“Ah!” Meng Shang suddenly remembered, “Right, I recall now. We just passed through the Jade Hairpin Flower Goddess’s dream.”
The Jade Hairpin Flower Goddess also came to her senses. Seeing the closeness between the two, she felt a pang of envy, gazing at them plaintively.
Liu Ping glanced at her and noticed her intense gaze; his heart skipped—showing affection before the Flower Goddess and their Deputy Envoy might provoke dissatisfaction. Embarrassed, he withdrew his hand.
Clearing his throat, he said, “We need to find the master of this dream quickly. Judging by the previous two, they shouldn’t be far.”
The Jade Hairpin Flower Goddess asked, “Should we split up or act together?”
Meng Shang also looked to Liu Ping.
Unconsciously, the decision had fallen to Liu Ping.
After a moment’s thought, he said, “Let’s stay together. Though it reduces our search efficiency, it’s much safer.”
Just as he finished speaking, three figures flew across the sky—not far away. They were the Apricot Flower Goddess, Peach Blossom Goddess, and Lotus Flower Goddess.
Noticing Liu Ping and his companions, they hurried over.
Liu Ping was momentarily taken aback—why were they all appearing in a single dream?
Soon, the three flower goddesses approached. Peach Blossom Goddess quickly asked, “Deputy Envoy, Seventh Sister, Master Liu, how did you end up here?”
Meng Shang replied, “Sir rescued us, guiding us through several dreams, and we arrived here.”
The three were shocked, their eyes filled with disbelief as they looked at Liu Ping. He, a mere Human Immortal, was capable of such feats?
Liu Ping, feeling their gazes, voiced his own question, “But you—why are you here?”
Peach Blossom Goddess explained, “Though offensive treasures cannot be brought in, defensive ones can. This treasure protected me in the nightmare, keeping my mind clear. Once I tore through the original dream, I arrived here.”
Apricot Flower Goddess added, “It was the same for me. With a guardian treasure, I was unbeatable. The dream was troublesome, but I broke through, rescued Sixth Sister, and then met Third Sister here.”
Liu Ping couldn’t help but sigh—having equipment makes everything easier.
Peach Blossom Goddess, sensing Liu Ping’s aura, asked curiously, “Master Liu, do you have a defensive treasure? Why can’t I sense it?”
“A treasure?” Liu Ping replied, puzzled, “I have no such thing; naturally, you can’t sense it.”
“No treasure?” Peach Blossom Goddess was shocked, even more puzzled, “How could that be? Without a treasure, how did you tear through dreams and rescue the Deputy Envoy and Seventh Sister?”
Lotus Flower Goddess and Apricot Flower Goddess both showed skeptical expressions. Liu Ping, with no treasure, could break through dreams? He was only newly ascended, not even at the first stage, yet so formidable?
Liu Ping was about to explain when Meng Shang interrupted, “Because sir is simply extraordinary. He understands the structure of dreams—if you open the door or enter the monster’s mouth, you can escape.”
“Understands the structure of dreams? Opens the door, enters the monster’s mouth, escapes?” The three flower goddesses exchanged glances, reading each other’s astonishment. After a moment, they recovered, “Is that possible?”
Liu Ping nodded, “Of course. Dreams are merely worlds constructed by subconsciousness when conscious thought is dormant. By focusing your mind, the subconscious construction ceases. Then, opening a door is like tearing through the dream—you can escape.”
Though not fully comprehending, they grasped the essence and were amazed. “So that’s how dreams are constructed?”
Peach Blossom Goddess, Apricot Flower Goddess, and Lotus Flower Goddess couldn’t help but exclaim, “Master Liu, you are truly learned!”
With their numbers, they soon located the Osmanthus Flower Goddess trapped in this dream world. Passing through dream after dream, they finally destroyed all the illusions, and everyone returned to the real world.
Awakening, they felt a moment of unreality. Recalling the dreams they had just experienced, many of the flower goddesses showed lingering fear on their faces.
