Chapter Sixteen: Who Dares Disrespect Mr. Chen?
Qin Hao's eyes were filled with surprise and fear.
At that moment, Chen Yang narrowed his eyes and sneered, “Qin Hao, you really have some nerve.”
Qin Hao glanced at Chen Yang, then at Wu Guangde beside him. He simply could not fathom how Chen Yang had teamed up with Wu Guangde, nor why Wu Guangde, so loyal, kept helping Chen Yang against him time and again.
Now that Qin Hao was at least a deputy general manager of the Qin Group, he fancied himself a figure of importance and tried reasoning with Chen Yang, “If you hadn’t bullied my mother, would I have looked for someone to deal with you?”
“Are you stupid? If you want someone to deal with me, at least find someone competent. Instead, you brought a bunch of weaklings and thought you could take me down?” Chen Yang mocked.
Qin Hao’s eyes grew even stranger, unable to comprehend how this man, whom he had always seen as a useless delivery boy, worthless and incapable, suddenly transformed.
All Qin Hao wanted now was to escape. He tried to negotiate seriously, “Chen Yang, look, you weren’t hurt this time. Just apologize to my mother and my sister, and we’ll let it go. From now on, we’ll keep out of each other’s way.”
Hearing this, Chen Yang couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh.
He squinted at Qin Hao for a moment, then suddenly raised his hand and slapped Qin Hao hard across the face. “Do you even have the right to negotiate with me? You want me to apologize? Who do you think you are?”
Arrogant!
Utterly arrogant.
Chen Yang’s actions made even Wu Guangde, standing nearby, envious. President Chen was truly extraordinary.
Qin Hao, too, was left simmering with humiliation by Chen Yang’s slap.
He angrily shouted at Chen Yang, “Fine! I’ll never forget this slap you gave me.”
“Remember it then, what difference does it make? Now, you have two choices: first, I beat you; second, Wu Guangde’s men beat you. Pick one,” Chen Yang said coldly.
Qin Hao’s eyes were bloodshot. “Chen, you dare to bully me?”
Chen Yang shook his head in disappointment, thinking to himself, Is Qin Hao truly an idiot? Even now, he’s stubborn. He’s really asking for trouble.
Not wanting to waste any more words, Chen Yang turned to Wu Guangde, “Teach him a lesson. Make sure he never dares to act up with me again.”
Wu Guangde grinned, cracking his knuckles. “Alright.”
Qin Hao was dragged to a vacant spot and subjected to a brutal beating by Wu Guangde’s men. His screams occasionally drifted to Chen Yang’s ears.
While Qin Hao was being beaten, Wu Guangde approached Chen Yang with a smile, “Brother Chen, with your abilities, why stay low-key? Why not announce your strength to the world? People like Qin Hao would never dare provoke you again.”
Chen Yang looked at Wu Guangde, “You seem to know a lot?”
Wu Guangde chuckled awkwardly, “I just want what’s best for you.”
Chen Yang replied indifferently, “I have my own plans. I prefer to be quietly flamboyant. Is that so wrong?”
Wu Guangde quickly nodded, his face full of smiles, “Of course, that's perfectly fine.”
Afterwards, Wu Guangde thought to himself, President Chen really is unique.
As Qin Hao was still being beaten, Chen Yang felt there was no point in staying any longer. He said to Wu Guangde, “Keep teaching him a lesson, but you decide how far to go. I’m heading back. When you’re done, send me a message.”
Wu Guangde hurriedly replied, “Yes, don’t worry.”
“Good.”
Chen Yang nodded to Wu Guangde, then turned and left, soon disappearing into the darkness of the night.
Qin Hao was beaten for more than half an hour before Wu Guangde finally ordered his release.
Wu Guangde and his men drove off, leaving Qin Hao sprawled on the ground like a dead dog.
After a while, Qin Hao opened his eyes, filled with murderous intent.
He struggled to his feet and called his father. Not long after, his father, Qin Guofu, arrived in a Toyota SUV with the whole family.
Qin Guofu, slightly overweight with a crew cut, bore a strong resemblance to Qin Hao. He got out of the car with his wife Xu Meilan and Qin Yan. Seeing Qin Hao’s miserable state, he immediately frowned, “Damn it, who did this?”
Qin Hao dropped the pretense in front of his father, gritting his teeth, “It was Qin Muxue and that Chen guy, who ordered Wu Guangde to do it.”
“Chen Yang?” Qin Guofu clenched his fists, his eyes brimming with hatred. He cursed, “That useless trash—I’ll kill him!”
“That kind of person should have been sent to hell ages ago,” Xu Meilan spat.
Qin Yan added, “Dad, I don’t know what’s gotten into that delivery guy lately. You must teach him a lesson this time. Look what he's done to my brother—it's outrageous!”
Qin Guofu clenched his fists, “I’ll get your Uncle Lei to help. Tomorrow, if I don’t finish off that little bastard, I’ll have wasted all these years in Linhai.”
Early the next morning.
Chen Yang and Qin Muxue had just finished washing up and went downstairs, ready to leave for work, when suddenly, the villa door was pounded violently.
Hearing the banging, Qin Muxue looked puzzled, “Who’s knocking so early?”
At that moment, Han Qin and Qin Guoshan came out of their room. Qin Guoshan, clad in a black Zhongshan suit, looked at Qin Muxue curiously, “Who is it?”
“I don’t know. I’ll go open the door,” Qin Muxue said, frowning.
She walked briskly to the door, opened it, and with a loud bang, it was shoved open forcefully from outside, startling her.
As the door swung open, Qin Guofu strode in with his hands behind his back, followed by Qin Yan and a middle-aged man with graying hair, about 1.7 meters tall, sporting a prominent hooked nose. He led six burly men into the villa.
Han Qin was surprised to see Qin Guofu, “Big brother, why are you here?”
Qin Guofu’s gaze went straight to Chen Yang. He barked, “What are you standing there for? Come over here!”
The whole family turned their eyes to Chen Yang.
With Qin Guofu reprimanding Chen Yang so harshly, it was clear he must have caused trouble.
Qin Guoshan walked over to Qin Guofu and asked with a frown, “What’s going on?”
Qin Guofu pointed at Chen Yang’s nose and yelled, “Damn it, this trash sent Xiao Hao to the hospital last night. He also smashed Xiao Yan's car and was disrespectful to her aunt. Today, I’ll settle all these scores with him.”
Hearing this, Qin Guoshan’s expression grew grave.
He looked deeply at Chen Yang, then stepped aside, saying nothing, clearly unwilling to intervene.
Qin Guofu turned to Chen Yang again, threatening, “Are you coming over or not?”
Chen Yang found Qin Guofu amusing. He walked over, “I’m here. What now?”
Qin Guofu jabbed his finger at Chen Yang’s nose, “An eye for an eye. Don’t blame me for bullying the younger generation. Think about what you did to Xiao Hao. Today, I’ll return it all to you.”
“Mr. Lei, go ahead.”
Qin Guofu looked at the hooked-nose, lanky man beside him.
The man sneered coldly at Chen Yang, making his knuckles crack. “In a moment, which arm would you like broken? The left or the right?”
Qin Muxue could not sit idly by in this situation.
No matter what, Chen Yang had helped her out plenty before.
She hurriedly pleaded with Qin Guofu, “Uncle, there must be some misunderstanding. Please calm down.”
“You won’t be able to escape either. You’re involved in this too,” Qin Guofu replied coldly.
Hearing that she was implicated, Qin Muxue’s expression turned stern. How was she involved?
Qin Yan sneered, “Cousin, look at the trash you married. He not only disgraces you but keeps dragging you down. Right, Aunt?”
The ‘Aunt’ Qin Yan referred to was none other than Qin Muxue’s mother, Han Qin.
Han Qin, now furious and oblivious to Chen Yang’s previous kindness, snapped, “Go ahead and beat him. I have no objections.”
At that moment, the hooked-nose man, Lei Cheng, suddenly grabbed Chen Yang, coldly saying, “Did you know Qin Hao is my godson? You dared to hit my godson? Are you tired of living?”
“Big brother, this is a family matter. Was it necessary to call Lei Cheng?” Qin Guoshan protested.
Though he didn’t care much for Chen Yang, he knew Lei Cheng was skilled in martial arts—rumored to be able to kill a bull with a single punch.
He feared Chen Yang might be killed by Lei Cheng, which would be troublesome.
Qin Guofu insisted, “Mind your own business.”
Only then did Chen Yang realize the man’s name was Lei Cheng. An idea formed in his mind. He shoved Lei Cheng aside and said coldly, “You want to lay a hand on me today, but I don’t think you’ll succeed. Mind if I make a phone call?”
Lei Cheng sneered in disdain, “Go ahead, make your call. I’ll wait.”
Chen Yang swiftly pulled out his phone and dialed Xiong Hu, who was in Jiangjing, the provincial capital.
He sensed that Lei Cheng had the air of someone from the underworld and noticed his Jiangjing accent, so he called Xiong Hu to see if he knew Lei Cheng.
If Xiong Hu did, great—no need for Chen Yang to act. If not, Chen Yang wouldn’t hesitate to teach this rogue a lesson.
After a brief exchange, Chen Yang discovered Xiong Hu indeed knew Lei Cheng. When Chen Yang mentioned Lei Cheng causing him trouble, Xiong Hu became furious.
Chen Yang hung up and smiled at Lei Cheng, “Alright, I’m done with my call. But I think your time is up.”
Lei Cheng burst out laughing, finding it all amusing.
Qin Yan cautiously whispered to Lei Cheng, “Uncle Lei, stop wasting time with him.”
Lei Cheng strode up to Chen Yang, grabbed him by the neck, and prepared to punch him in the stomach. Suddenly, his phone rang in his pocket.
Annoyed, he kept his grip on Chen Yang while pulling out his phone, only to frown deeply.
The call was from Xiong Hu.
Lei Cheng knew that Xiong Hu was someone he had always wanted to curry favor with.
He hurriedly answered, only to hear Xiong Hu’s furious voice through the phone, “Lei Cheng, you turtle bastard, how dare you disrespect Mr. Chen?”
