Chapter 50: Interference
Amidst the swirling dust, Ye Feng retreated swiftly, while Fela pursued him in a flash and struck out with another punch.
“Eight Desolations Collapse, Third Form!” Fela murmured, his hand tracing an arcane, mysterious trajectory. His left fist clenched tightly, seeming to draw in all the surrounding air in an instant, compressing it into a single strike.
Whoosh...
His fist, like a wave of light, whistled through the air with a piercing sound, surging toward Ye Feng. The force of the blow was overwhelming and unstoppable, the dazzling brilliance of its light blinding in its might.
In this moment, Fela was cast in an almost towering, heroic light.
Ye Feng, on the other hand, could only fall back once more, seemingly unable to withstand the speed and unparalleled power of this blow.
At this moment, those outside the arena truly felt the terror of Fela. The Eight Desolations Collapse—every form of it possessed the might of a divine ability.
At the Spirit King level, to master even a single divine technique was enough to stand above one’s peers. Yet Fela wielded the first four forms of the Eight Desolations Collapse, a testament to his terrifying prowess.
“Violet-Gold Eyes!”
Ye Feng shouted, his eyes instantly blazing with golden light. In his gaze, it was as though two strands of celestial radiance pierced the void, shooting rapidly toward the fearsome fist.
Sizzle... Boom...
The twin beams of golden light instantly punctured the terrifying force of the fist. The spiritual energy within, as well as the compressed air, became turbulent in that moment and quickly leaked out from the torn opening.
Perhaps the turbulence of energy and air, or perhaps the opening itself was too small to vent the energy quickly enough, but after only a few heartbeats, the giant fist exploded with a thunderous roar.
Fragments of stone flew, earth was thrown high, and even the distant lake’s surface erupted as if struck by a thunderclap, sending water surging several meters into the air.
Ye Feng was deeply shocked. Fela was too formidable—this was the strongest opponent he had ever faced, and he could not gain the slightest advantage.
Fela was equally astonished. In his estimation, few could withstand his three punches, yet the man before him had brought him so many surprises, fighting him to a standstill with nothing but innate talent.
Fela thrust out his right fist again—not hurriedly, not slowly—but as he launched this blow, it was like a vast army charging forth. The sky echoed with rumbling thunder, the oppressive power of the strike gathering, awaiting its most terrifying release.
“The Fourth Form—Stars Shift and Planets Revolve!”
In the next instant, the force of the punch gathered, enveloping Fela in a shroud of violet light. Around him, fist shadows condensed, each like a great star from the highest heavens.
Dozens of stars spun rapidly, finally aligning in a vertical column, and then plummeted toward the dueling stage.
A torrent of spiritual power surged. Ye Feng conjured a long blade in his left hand.
At the edge of life and death, he quickly calmed himself, his heart void of desire or fear. With his blade held aloft, Ye Feng closed his eyes, and scenes from the celestial garden surfaced in his mind once more.
That mighty figure, standing alone against myriad foes—yet so long as the blade was in hand, rivers of blood could flow, and no force could inspire fear.
With a single slash, mountains and peaks were shattered...
With a single slash, waterfalls a thousand fathoms high were cleaved in two...
With a single slash, the earth split open, carving chasms thousands of meters deep...
In his mind, he replayed those scenes he had witnessed before, each stroke of the blade possessing matchless might, memories passing before his eyes like a swiftly turning wheel.
Swish...
A dragon’s cry resounded suddenly from atop the dueling stage. Almost unconsciously, Ye Feng swung his blade.
In the next moment, a golden dragon, several meters long, surged out from the blade, exuding a terrifying aura as it soared skyward from the center of the stage.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Like a flood dragon rising from the abyss, unstoppable and devastating, the golden dragon crashed headlong into the falling stars, shattering them one by one, turning them into pure spiritual energy, which it then devoured in great gulps.
“This kid is ruthless!”
“How is this possible? That’s a divine ability—since ancient times, no one at the innate level has ever mastered a divine technique, let alone one with such overwhelming power.”
Outside the arena, amidst the devastation, everyone was shaken to their core. The brutal clash they had imagined never came to pass. Facing the leading figure of the Sacred Land, Ye Feng had swept aside Fela’s strongest attack with overwhelming force.
The golden dragon shone brilliantly in the void, then, with a flick of its tail, dove down toward Fela.
The dragon streaked across the sky with lightning speed. Fela had no time to think, barely managing to raise a few defensive shields before the dragon was upon him.
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
Several layers of spiritual shields shattered almost instantly. The dragon pressed forward unimpeded, about to crash into Fela.
But in the next instant, a milky white radiance spread forth as if from the primordial chaos. Without a sound, a milky white barrier appeared before Fela once again.
Buzz...
With no resistance, the dragon crashed heavily against the shield, sending out waves of echoes. The dragon itself fragmented, dispersing into the purest spiritual energy, vanishing into the void.
“Hmph! Old man, how dare you interfere in a battle between juniors? Are you courting death?” Just as the shield appeared and the dragon struck, the void near Ye Feng rippled like the surface of water.
Old Master Ye had not yet arrived, but his furious voice thundered out like a great bell.
“This battle—my Sacred Land admits defeat!” As the void fluctuated, three elders in crimson brocade appeared, one of them the very same who had fought the Black Python Demon King in the Falling Wild Goose Mountains.
Before he could finish, Old Master Ye’s figure appeared swiftly. “The Sacred Land is as shameless as ever. Hmph!” He had barely materialized when he gave a dismissive flick of his sleeve, and the three elders were blown back as if leaves before the wind.
“Ye, don’t go too far. Do you want to provoke the Sacred Lord to come and fight you himself?” The three, shielding Fela, managed to halt themselves a hundred meters away. The elder who had fought the demon king was flushed with rage, shouting furiously.
“Hmph! Consider this a lesson. I have an agreement with that old fellow—elders don’t interfere in the battles of the younger generation. Yet you break the rules. Let me tell you, even if I crush you here today, Menluo himself would have nothing to say!” With hands clasped behind his back, Old Master Ye was arrogant and imperious, completely disregarding the three before him.
“You—” The three elders were momentarily speechless.
Before they had come here, the one seated on the throne had indeed warned them not to interfere in the battles of the younger generation.
But Fela, locked in battle, was the direct descendant of one of the crimson-robed elders. Seeing Fela about to fall and perish, he could not restrain himself and intervened.
“Get out! If you dare do this again, even if Menluo himself comes, I’ll have your head!”
