Although Zhang Wei had closed a rental deal that morning, he didn’t have much time to relax. That evening, he was scheduled to show Chen Sixuan some properties, so in the afternoon, he went over the listings once more, then helped facilitate the handover between clients and landlords. By the time he finished, it was already past seven in the evening.
Zhang Wei had arranged to meet A Ben at eight o’clock at the Mingmen Grand Hotel, a very upscale restaurant. Although Zhang Wei had never dined there, such high-end establishments were landmark buildings in the area. He had already familiarized himself with the location while scouting properties.
Walking from Yayuan Residential Complex to the Mingmen Grand Hotel would take nearly thirty minutes, so Zhang Wei chose to drive to save time. Once he left Yayuan, he pressed the accelerator twice and arrived within minutes.
The Mingmen Grand Hotel sat at the intersection of Dawang Road and Huaguang Road, surrounded by a network of busy streets teeming with people. Its architecture embodied an elegant Oriental style—simple yet refined—with four hostesses in traditional cheongsams standing gracefully at the entrance.
This restaurant was a local landmark, not only convenient for transportation but also easy to find. Zhang Wei often chose it as a meeting place for clients, so he was somewhat familiar with it.
The cuisine at Mingmen Grand combined Chinese, Korean, and Japanese culinary cultures, using fresh natural ingredients from both domestic and international sources. The restaurant also featured private VIP rooms, ensuring a high level of privacy, with an exquisite environment and superb food.
Guided by the hotel security guard, Zhang Wei parked his car and proceeded toward the main entrance. Though he had met clients there before, he had never actually entered the hotel.
As he stepped onto the red-carpeted steps, the four cheongsam-clad hostesses bowed slightly and smiled, greeting him warmly, “Welcome.”
Zhang Wei glanced at them. Each was well-proportioned and attractive, moving with synchronized grace. They all wore faint dimples, their red lips slightly parted to reveal eight perfectly aligned teeth—clearly professionally trained.
“Sir, please come in,” one hostess approached, gesturing politely with her right hand to usher him inside.
“Thank you,” Zhang Wei nodded in reply.
Upon entering the Mingmen Grand Hotel, a cool and refreshing atmosphere greeted him. The lighting was bright, and the decor blended the elegance of Chinese style with exotic touches, indicating careful attention to every corner of the establishment.
“Sir, do you have a reservation?” the hostess inquired.
“My friend, Miss Chen, reserved VIP Room No. 3,” Zhang Wei replied. He and A Ben had arranged to meet there during a phone call, but the reservation was made by Chen Sixuan herself, as A Ben was merely assisting her.
“Are you Mr. Zhang Wei? The front desk has already been informed. Once you arrived, we were instructed to take you directly to Room 3. Miss Chen and her friend are waiting for you,” the hostess said with an even warmer smile.
“So early…” Zhang Wei checked his watch, somewhat surprised. It was only 7:45 p.m., and he had arrived fifteen minutes ahead of schedule, yet the others had come even earlier.
“Mr. Zhang, please follow me,” the hostess gestured, leading him toward the left side of the restaurant.
On that side was a corridor flanked by private rooms, with VIP Room No. 3 at the end, marked with a VIP sign. The hostess stopped at the door, turned to Zhang Wei with a gentle smile, then knocked thrice—“knock, knock, knock.”
“Please come in!” A sharp voice called from inside—a voice Zhang Wei instantly recognized as belonging to the stylist A Ben.
“Miss Chen, your guest Mr. Zhang Wei has arrived,” the hostess opened the door and bowed slightly toward A Ben and a young woman inside.
“Oh wow, Little Weiwei, you came so fast! I thought you’d be a bit later,” A Ben exclaimed, springing up from his chair with a pout and a coquettish hum.
“That’s only right. You can’t keep a client waiting,” Zhang Wei smiled.
“Waiter, everyone’s here now. You may start serving the dishes, but you better be quick!” A Ben snapped his fingers playfully at the hostess from across the room.
“Alright… I’ll have the food brought out immediately,” the hostess replied, her mouth twitching and speech slightly faltering—clearly startled by A Ben’s theatrics—before quickly turning to leave.
“Oh, Little Weiwei, stop standing there and come sit! Let me introduce you—this is my good friend, Little Xuanxuan. Isn’t she beautiful?” A Ben sashayed over, hooked his arm around Zhang Wei, and pulled him to the table.
Zhang Wei looked up at the woman beside him. Her long black hair cascaded over her shoulders, and she wore a blue T-shirt that subtly outlined her figure. A faint, gentle fragrance emanated from her. The table blocked Zhang Wei’s view of her lower half.
His gaze shifted to her face—a familiar yet breathtaking visage. Despite having seen many beauties, Zhang Wei was momentarily stunned. Her delicate, oval face bore light makeup; her clear eyes sparkled with vitality; her nose was slender and refined; and her pink lips were irresistibly alluring. She was even more beautiful in person than on television—the celebrated pure and innocent star, Chen Sixuan.
The word “beauty” had been overused, applied to anyone with some charm. Yet true beauty was a matter of degree, mainly judged by appearance, figure, and complexion. If these were each scored out of 100, someone with at least 70 in facial beauty alone, even if average in figure and skin, could broadly be called beautiful.
But it was exceedingly rare to find a woman scoring 90 or above in all three categories—such a woman was a breathtaking, peerless beauty. Chen Sixuan belonged to this rare category.
Zhang Wei knew many stunning women—Wang Min, Murong Xuan, Liu Yourou, Su Ning to name a few. Before meeting Chen Sixuan, he considered them all exquisite. But upon seeing her in person, he found Chen Sixuan surpassed them all by a clear margin.
Without exaggeration, Zhang Wei could say Chen Sixuan was the most beautiful woman he had ever encountered, especially due to her ethereal purity that seemed untouched by the mundane world. Anyone who saw her was captivated by her looks and aura.
“Miss Chen, you are even more beautiful in person than on television. Truly breathtaking,” Zhang Wei said with a nod and a smile, not just flattering but speaking his genuine thoughts.
“Mr. Zhang, you’re too kind. A Ben has often praised you in my presence, saying you are the most tasteful agent he has ever met,” Chen Sixuan replied with a soft smile, showing none of the aloofness typical of a celebrity, but rather a genuine, approachable warmth.
“Oh, Little Weiwei, Little Xuanxuan, we’re all friends here! No need to be so formal—it makes things awkward,” A Ben teased, pouting even more and speaking coquettishly as he noticed the slight awkwardness between the two despite their mutual compliments.
