Chapter 26: Tier-Three Devouring Zombie [First Update]
"Hey, beautiful, come over here," Luffy said with a smile, looking at Dragon Girl.
"What do you want? Are you trying to touch my chest?" Dragon Girl saw his gaze fixed on her chest, and her cheeks flushed as she spoke.
"You're right. Come here, I'll take good care of you," Luffy grinned, but his true intent wasn't her chest—it was the red envelope.
"Go ahead then. I'm a few hundred years older than you, and you want me to call you 'brother'? Keep dreaming," Dragon Girl retorted boldly, even thrusting her chest forward. Her audacity made Luffy swallow involuntarily—she was just too straightforward.
If he didn't act now, he'd lose face.
Without hesitation, his hand shot out, swift as lightning.
Dragon Girl's face turned redder; she hadn't expected him to actually do it.
He touched her.
It was almost unbelievable.
"System notification: Red envelope opening—25 seconds required. Countdown: 25, 24, 23..."
"Enjoying yourself?" Dragon Girl nearly pounced on him.
"Of course..." Luffy's own cheeks flushed; it felt pretty good, sizable enough to almost slip from his grasp.
Naturally, he gave it a firm squeeze at the end.
This made Dragon Girl's face even redder.
"System notification: Red envelope opened successfully. Congratulations, host, you have obtained a Revolving Samsara Eye. Will you integrate it? If not, it will disappear."
"What is the Samsara Eye?" Luffy felt he'd just won something extraordinary.
"The Samsara Eye can see through illusions, discern the flow of yin and yang..."
"Oh, then integrate it right away. Only a fool wouldn't. Are there any side effects?"
"System notification: Integrating. Please keep your left eye closed for five minutes. There are no side effects."
"Excellent!" Luffy immediately hugged Dragon Girl.
Her face grew even hotter. Was he really going to sleep with her? The thought alone made her heart race.
But in the next instant, Luffy stood up, turned, and walked over to sit on the sofa.
Zeng Hongsen and the others returned, completely shocked that the Teddy Divine Beast had been so powerful as to scare off that many zombies.
"Boss..." Zeng Hongsen looked at Luffy.
"It's fine. Rest for a bit. The zombies will return," Luffy said, keeping his left eye closed.
Dragon Girl, however, was displeased. "So you’re just going to touch me and not follow through?"
"Of course not!" Luffy had no intention of going any further.
"Hmph..." Dragon Girl turned away, a little angry.
Meanwhile, the Teddy Divine Beast strutted back, so cocky that it nearly walked sideways.
"Don’t think you’re so great just because you scared off a bunch of zombies. If you want my respect, go and kill a thousand of them," Luffy said, rolling his eyes at the creature.
Not far away, Three Thousand Silken Threads watched in disbelief. She hadn’t expected the zombies to disperse so suddenly—it was too bizarre, and she hadn’t even seen what happened.
But in the next moment, she summoned even more zombies—five hundred, a thousand, two thousand...
She refused to believe a mere few dozen people couldn't be overwhelmed.
Soon, the zombies surged forward again.
Luffy opened his left eye as if nothing had happened, but once he activated the Samsara Eye, his pupil transformed into a black-and-white yin-yang symbol—a dominating presence. He could see through trees, observing their inner structure; it was truly miraculous. He could even trace the flow of energy within the zombies.
Overjoyed, Luffy strode out, grasping the Red Dragon Sword.
With one slash, a wave of flaming sword energy swept forward, decapitating every zombie in its path. In a single stroke, he destroyed over a dozen zombies.
With Luffy leading the assault and the gates wide open, no matter how many zombies poured in, they were slaughtered without mercy. The ground was strewn with corpses, a sea of blood and bodies.
Luffy led the charge, killing with abandon, and Zeng Hongsen grew more exhilarated with every strike.
But Three Thousand Silken Threads, watching from afar, felt her scalp tingle in horror. Were these people all monsters? The more they killed, the more excited they seemed.
She immediately controlled three third-tier zombies and sent them charging forward.
Each was four meters tall, their massive bodies making the ground tremble with every step.
As the three third-tier zombies arrived, the number of lesser zombies increased as well.
"Roar..."
Each of the three zombies possessed the strength of eighty men.
Trees fell in their wake as they approached Luffy and his group.
"Holy crap, how can there be such powerful zombies?" Zeng Hongsen's eyes widened in shock.
"No worries, I'll handle this," Luffy replied, brandishing the Red Dragon Sword and charging ahead. Facing the three third-tier zombies, he showed no fear—he unleashed three Cross-Flame Slashes.
Three blazing crosses hurtled toward the zombies.
With a sickening sound, all three were grievously wounded—one lost an arm, another a leg, and the third was cleaved in two.
However, as if nothing had happened, their bodies reattached themselves and pressed forward.
Luffy realized that unless he decapitated them, they couldn't be destroyed. He locked in combat with the trio, then suddenly leapt up and severed the head of one third-tier zombie.
Blood spattered everywhere.
Yet Luffy found no reason to celebrate, for the severed head suddenly flew back and reattached itself, the zombie resuming its attack without pause.
He narrowed his eyes, activating the Samsara Eye, and saw that all three third-tier zombies were being controlled by black hair. Even if decapitated, the hair would sew them back together—an endless cycle.
Luffy instantly darted behind the zombies and slashed apart the hair binding them.
In an instant, their limbs fell away, and one collapsed to the ground.
Luffy was elated.
But then, a sudden ripple of energy appeared beside him.
A green-skinned zombie, standing only about 1.7 meters tall, opened a grotesquely wide mouth and swallowed all three third-tier zombies whole.
It happened in a blink.
Luffy was aghast and struck out with a Cross-Flame Slash at the green zombie.
But a mass of hair intercepted the blow, the flames reducing the strands to ash.
Yet the green zombie had already evolved—wings sprouted from its back, a single horn jutted from its head, its skin turned white, and vicious tusks protruded from its mouth. It was terrifying, monstrous.
With a roar, all the surrounding zombies dropped to their knees.
Three Thousand Silken Threads, not far away, was stunned. She hadn't expected to create a peak third-tier zombie with the strength of two hundred men.
"What the hell is going on?" Zeng Hongsen, drenched in blood, flinched at the terrifying roar.
Three Thousand Silken Threads tried to control the peak third-tier zombie with her hair.
But as soon as her hair neared, the zombie's arm elongated and seized her, dragging her close.
"No... what are you—" she struggled desperately, but in an instant, the zombie stuffed her into its mouth and swallowed her whole.
She hadn't even had a chance to resist.
Luffy paused in astonishment. The mastermind behind all this had been devoured by her own creation in an instant—a fitting retribution.
But the peak third-tier zombie before him was now far too powerful. Luffy himself only had the strength of one hundred and thirty men; he didn't stand a chance.
