Chapter 94: Dark Red and Blue-White [Second Update]
Beast Flash and Corpse Flash crashed down on Luffy at the same moment, savage and overwhelming, brimming with ruinous power.
“Damn it, let’s see whether this human boy dies or not. How dare he be so brazen.”
The male quasi-zombie king smiled coldly, already able to imagine the boy being blasted to pieces in the next instant.
“Exactly. This boy is far too arrogant. He’s nothing but prey in our mouths, and yet he actually thinks he can stand against four quasi-kings alone. What utter delusion.”
The sparrow quasi-demon king quite agreed with the male quasi-zombie king.
“Die,” the badly wounded male quasi-bee king said, his eyes blazing with madness.
Boom, boom, boom...
Three annihilating forces slammed into Luffy and swallowed him whole, forming a vast half-spherical sphere of energy.
The shockwave swept outward in all directions, terrifying beyond words.
Zeng Hongsen drew in a sharp breath. He had never imagined that those quasi-kings could be so dreadful, that they could unleash such destructive power. His hair was blown into disarray, and his clothes snapped violently in the wind.
“Boss won’t be all right, will he? He should be all right.”
After all, that attack had already surpassed anything he could have imagined; he could not even begin to measure it.
Beside him, Zhao Liying was full of worry, for the attack was simply too powerful, and she had no idea how it would end.
“Holy shit!” Ma Bi was also covered in injuries, lying on the ground. He was filthy and foul-smelling, but he paid the stench no mind. He stared intently at the ferocious battle in the distance, too intense, too terrifying. His eyes widened in shock, and he did not know what to say.
“Damn it, this friend of Bailing’s is insane. I, this old man, really misjudged him. I thought he was only at the third rank, but now it looks like he’s unfathomable. I can’t even begin to tell how high his level really is!”
Seeing that battle, Zhang Jiulao knew it was on an entirely different level from his own. He had been flung far, far behind.
“Haha... utterly powerless.”
The male quasi-zombie king laughed wildly, already preparing to celebrate their victory.
“Indeed. I thought we might have to spend some effort dealing with him, but who would have thought that three flashes would be enough to wipe out that boy?”
The sparrow quasi-demon king sneered as well, convinced that celebration was in order. Soon would come the hour of humankind’s destruction.
And yet,
the badly wounded male quasi-bee king lying on the ground,
slowly lifted his head and looked up at the sky. His eyes suddenly flew wide open, filled with staggering shock, then boundless terror, then a thousandfold and a millionfold panic, too stunned to speak, speechless with disbelief, his eyes almost splitting apart.
The other two quasi-kings were smiling when they noticed the bee quasi-king’s expression and froze. What was he looking at in the sky? What kind of face was that?
They felt a jolt of alarm and followed his gaze.
There they saw the female quasi-zombie king with wings on her back trapped in the middle of a vast blue-white lotus flame in the sky, struggling desperately but utterly unable to escape, on the brink of death at any moment.
“How... how is this possible? Wasn’t that boy supposed to be dead? How can his blue-white lotus flame still be there?”
The male quasi-zombie king’s eyes went wide, his pupils shrinking in an instant, shock flooding him completely.
“Holy shit... impossible!!!”
The sparrow quasi-demon king nearly had his eyes pop out as he looked up at the sky. The sight before him was beyond shocking. That flame had not vanished; instead, it had grown even larger, reaching at least fifty meters across. It was absurd, unbelievable, maddening. How could something like this happen?
All of them lowered their heads and looked toward the place where the energy had raged, where the boy had been swallowed by Beast Flash and Corpse Flash. The energy and dust were dispersing, revealing a large crater more than ten meters wide. In the center of that pit, Luffy stood on a small pillar of mud, his back straight, his eyes unblinking.
His newly changed clothes had been torn by the blast, but he had suffered only a few minor scratches. With effortless composure, he flashed to within twenty meters of the three quasi-kings.
There was no expression on his face. Like a miracle, like a ghost, like a demon, he had silently arrived ten meters before them.
Their spirits were shaken. Their vision reeled. Their confidence was shattered.
They screamed.
“Ahhh!!!”
Screaming madly, they simply could not believe what they were seeing. This human boy was too terrifying. How could he be this strong? How could he emerge completely unharmed from their combined attack?
They were collapsing inside. They were desperate. They were furious. They refused to believe that this boy could not be killed.
Boom...
The male quasi-zombie king raised a hand, corpse qi swirling all around him. He pointed one finger at the boy, and a drop of dark red energy began to spin violently, growing larger and stronger with every moment. It was the great corpse flash, a quasi-king technique purchased with his own lifespan. It was his all-out killing move.
“Damn it!”
The sparrow quasi-demon king also spat out a mouthful of blood and unleashed the great beast flash, fighting with his life on the line.
Though it would consume several years of his lifespan, their lives were long; using it once or twice meant little. Besides, the technique consumed a tremendous amount of energy. If this time they still could not wipe out the boy, then all that would remain to them would be flight.
Demonic energy coiled around his body as dark red power formed above his bloodied palm, spinning faster and faster, growing ever more terrifying.
The bee quasi-demon king naturally could not be outdone. He could not simply wait to die, or he truly would die.
He spat out several more mouthfuls of blood. Already so badly wounded, he was still forcing himself to fight to the death. They were all wagering their lives in battle, and that was a terrifying thing.
Even Luffy was surprised by it.
Of course, Luffy being unharmed by the explosion made Zeng Hongsen and the others overjoyed. They could not help cheering. They had always known that their boss, who could deal with even the strongest zombies, would never possibly be in danger.
Zhao Liying wore a smile as she looked up at the sky, silently praying for Luffy.
“This kid is really hiding his strength,” Zhang Jiulao said with a quiet laugh, utterly stunned.
He had never seen such a powerful young man before. Could he be cheating?
Boom...
The three annihilating forces came crashing toward Luffy like a storm of the apocalypse. Having unleashed that attack, the three quasi-kings themselves were left weakened and kneeling on the ground, gasping for breath, sweat pouring down their bodies.
“Nirvanic Rebirth Flame.”
Luffy suddenly raised a hand and pressed downward. The enormous blue-white lotus flame in the sky came crashing down together with the female quasi-zombie king, blocking in front of him.
“No!”
The three quasi-kings roared in fury and howled in despair. This human boy was too despicable. How could he use their own companion as a shield against their attack?
Boom, boom, boom...
The forces slammed together and erupted into a destructive explosion, swallowing both sides whole. Blue-white power and dark red power turned into two opposing poles, then exploded apart.
No one knew who had won.
Heat swept outward in every direction.
The energy roared like thunder.
Many people could not even keep their eyes open. The wind was so fierce that it nearly carried them away, and many corpses were blown far into the distance.
The female quasi-zombie king was directly blown to pieces, so dead she could not possibly be deader.
As for which side had won the battle, no one knew.
The dust raised by the explosion surged into the sky, and for a time no one could see what was happening inside.
