Chapter 62: Qin Bailin Is Angry [Third Update—Recommended Votes]

He landed steadily on the ground.
Qin Bailing’s rounded hips were pressed tightly against Luffy.
Luffy was momentarily stunned, his hands holding her ample curves from the front.
The peaks were so lofty that one hand could not grasp them; they were simply enormous.
A faint, delicate fragrance filled his nose—utterly wonderful.
For Luffy, this was the first time he’d felt such happiness. After all, he was holding the person he liked, embracing a place that should not be held. Anyone in his place would be thrilled, feeling incredibly lucky.
Of course, Luffy didn’t indulge in any mischievous squeezing—otherwise, Qin Bailing would have surely blamed him. As soon as they landed, he let her go.
Then,
He looked at her with concern and said, “Are you all right?”
“I’m... I’m fine. How did you get here?”
Qin Bailing flushed, surprised to see Luffy, and even more so that he had just saved her. The earlier contact made her feel awkward, but she couldn’t blame Luffy—it all happened so fast, no one could have known where their hands would land.
So she didn’t accuse Luffy of taking advantage. “Step aside, don’t get hurt by that sixth-rank zombie.”
Qin Bailing didn’t want to hurt Luffy’s pride. After all, he was only at the third rank and she didn’t think he could help much. The best he could do was stay back and avoid getting injured.
“It’s all right. Your hand is hurt; let me put some medicine on it. Leave this sixth-rank zombie to me.”
Luffy spoke earnestly, taking healing liquid and bandages from his person and walking over.
“Idiot! Don’t try to be a hero. Can you even handle it?”
Qin Bailing would never let Luffy risk himself. If anything happened to him, how could she explain to his parents?
“Of course I can.”
Luffy dripped some of the liquid onto the crimson wound on Qin Bailing’s fair skin, then wrapped it with a bandage. Since it was a wound from a sixth-rank zombie, even with the healing liquid, recovery would be slow—no longer the instant healing of the past.
“Get the hell out of the way and don’t drag us down!”
A man clad in blue battle armor walked over, exuding the strength of a fifth-rank warrior.
“Li Cheng!”
Qin Bailing hadn’t expected Li Chaodan’s brother, Li Cheng, to show up. He was cold and powerful, having slain sixth-rank zombies before. With a giant blade in hand, he strode toward the sixth-rank zombie, completely ignoring Luffy, sparing only a glance for Qin Bailing.
His enormous blade dragged along the ground, making a “shhh-shhh” sound.
The sixth-rank zombie eyed Li Cheng with disdain. “You’re the human who killed my brother last time. Did you think I’d come unprepared? Today, all of you will die here.”

“Oh, really? Captain Qin, help me kill him.”
Li Cheng glanced indifferently at Qin Bailing, still treating Luffy as if he didn’t exist, convinced that Luffy, mere third-rank, was courting death by being here.
“Of course!”
Qin Bailing pulled Luffy behind her, drew her bow, and aimed at the sixth-rank zombie. Her bow was unique, as though made from some special material.
“I really am strong—won’t you let me try?”
Luffy sighed helplessly. He knew Qin Bailing meant well, but she had no idea of his true power.
“I won’t let you throw your life away.”
Qin Bailing spoke seriously, pulling her bowstring taut and aiming at the sixth-rank zombie.
Meanwhile, Li Cheng quickened his pace and charged forward.
“Boom—” Suddenly, a massive shadow plunged from the sky.
A second enormous sixth-rank zombie crashed down.
The impact left a huge crater in the ground, dust billowing into the sky.
Li Cheng barely dodged to the side, practically risking his life. It all happened so fast—had he not moved quickly, he’d have been smashed to pulp by that colossal body.
Damn it.
He sucked in a breath, staring at the newcomer—a black-winged, sixth-rank zombie. Two of them now. One was hard enough; two were impossible. Still, he had to fight, or he’d lose all dignity before both zombies and himself.
With wild abandon, he charged with his giant blade—only to be ruthlessly swatted away by the two zombies. Unlike Qin Bailing, he had no one to catch him; his body crashed into a nearby building, sending up a cloud of dust.
Qin Bailing, startled, fired arrow after arrow.
“Whoosh, whoosh—” Ten shots in total.
But the two sixth-rank zombies paid no heed, opening their enormous mouths and swallowing the arrows whole. Some opened their mouths, red light flashing, and shot terrifying corpse-rays toward Qin Bailing.
“Boom—” The destructive force sliced a building in half, the structure collapsing forward.
“Rumble... crackle, crash...”
Qin Bailing was startled, but she dodged just in time. But where was Luffy behind her?
He was nowhere in sight.
She saw the fallen building and was terrified, but fortunately, the area had been evacuated long ago.

She looked around, seeing the toppled skyscraper, dust rolling, flames beginning to spread.
Those corpse-rays from the zombies were truly terrifying.
Thankfully, she was quick—otherwise, she would’ve been done for.
She spotted Li Cheng emerging, battered, from the ruins of a building, blood on his face and his giant blade slightly bent.
But she didn’t see Luffy. Turning her gaze to the two zombies, she wondered why they weren’t attacking.
Then, her eyes widened in shock—Luffy, whom she hadn’t found, was charging straight at the two zombies. She rushed forward in alarm.
“You...”
She was almost lost for words.
Meanwhile,
Li Cheng sneered from the side:
“Haha... a third-rank brat, so eager to show off? Doesn’t he see how terrifying those monsters are? He must have a death wish. Just wants to impress the beauty with that pathetic strength?”
“You’re right, Young Master Li. Qin Bailing was protecting him so well, and yet he’s charging out on his own. None of us can handle those zombies; he has even less chance. A single finger from one of those things could wipe him out.”
Li Feng was speechless. This kid was far too eager to show off.
“Well, there’s nothing we can do. People who want to die—we can’t save them.”
Li Cheng shook his head. He could already picture the boy being devoured by the zombies, not even enough to pick their teeth—maybe crushed to a pulp by a single punch and then swallowed.
No matter how you looked at it, there was no good end to be had.
“Get back here!” Qin Bailing desperately gave chase, but the harder she tried, the less ground she seemed to gain. Suddenly, she ducked and leapt forward, landing in front of Luffy, blocking his path.
“Are you crazy? I told you, you can’t win!”
Qin Bailing was furious, her chest heaving with anger.
