Chapter 119: A Finger of the Ancient God [First Update]
"Yuxin, what’s wrong? Why are your eyes so red? Don’t cry, brother will protect you," Daokong said anxiously.
"Protect my ass! Didn’t you see she’s possessed by the Nine-Tailed Fox Demon?" Zhao Wushuang kicked Daokong. As a monk, it was shameful that he was so infatuated with a girl.
"Ancestor." The fox demons knelt respectfully and excitedly before the red-eyed Yuxin. Their ancestor had broken free from the seal—this was wonderful news.
"Ancestor, we’ve done our best..." The fox demons all knelt deeply.
The basement was a vast circular chamber, fifty meters in diameter, with red crystal cores faintly glowing around the walls. The atmosphere was eerie, suffocating. Yuxin exuded a stifling aura as she stood there calmly, her hair and red dress flowing as if stirred by an invisible breeze, radiating allure.
"This body is quite exquisite. I have waited thousands of years. After the ancient war, I escaped here. Unexpectedly, an ancient god and an old Buddha fought for thousands of rounds but failed to kill me, so they sealed me here. Ha, there’s no relic as you said, only something left by the ancient god to prevent me from wreaking havoc. But now it’s useless. Since I am free, all will be destroyed."
Yuxin spoke as if she ruled the world, then looked at the fox demons. "Come, I grant you coexistence with me."
"Thank you, Ancestor." The fox demons happily approached, like loyal dogs.
Luffy and the others were speechless.
"Shall we strike?" Daokong glanced at Luffy.
"No need. Let’s see what tricks he plays. With the array spirits here, this monster shouldn’t be a threat," Luffy said, eyeing the strange spirits.
"But this monster fought in the ancient war, and ancient gods appeared. Won’t something happen?" Zhao Wushuang asked anxiously.
"What could happen? If anything, you all go in first. I’ll find out what the ancient god left to deal with it," Luffy smiled, while the array spirits remained unmoved, leaving them baffled.
"What? You want us to fight such a monster? You really overestimate us," Daokong was dumbfounded. How could Luffy think like that?
"You want us to die?" Zhao Wushuang was equally speechless.
"Ah..." The fox demons rushed forward, but Yuxin spread her hands, and dark energy surged from them, turning into threads that pierced the fox demons, sucking away their demonic and vital energies.
"Damn..." Daokong was stunned. Is this what coexistence means? It was so perverse—draining the energy from her own kind.
---
"Damn... so cruel and disgusting," Zhao Wushuang’s eyes widened, nearly sickened.
Meanwhile, Luffy watched as the array spirits stood aside, chatting as if unaffected.
"Great Strength Vajra Palm!" Daokong shouted, suddenly raising his hand and unleashing a golden light. A translucent golden Buddha appeared behind him, smashing toward Yuxin. He could not allow her to be completely overtaken by the monster; otherwise, Yuxin would be lost forever. This was why he acted out of anger.
"Boom..." The force shook the ground, leaving a huge indentation of a palm print, but Yuxin’s figure was not within it.
Daokong was shocked and speechless.
"To your left!" Zhao Wushuang shouted, slashing her sword toward Daokong.
"Damn... you want to kill me?" Daokong dodged just in time as the giant sword energy shot from the ground toward Yuxin.
"Swish..." Yuxin vanished again, evading Zhao Wushuang’s attack.
"You all are really weak. Even I can’t defeat this," Yuxin shook her head confidently.
"A mere clone, nothing to be proud of. If your true form appeared, I’d turn and run," Luffy suddenly appeared before Yuxin, conjuring a blue-and-white flame and blasting toward her.
"Boom..." The powerful force struck Yuxin, sending her flying backward, engulfed in the flame. She crashed hard against a nearby wall, which cracked and dusted.
Then she collapsed.
"Boom..."
Suddenly, a destructive force burst forth, shattering the Nirvana Rebirth Flame that protected Yuxin from being burned.
This Nine-Tailed Fox Demon’s clone was formidable.
"You’ve got some skill, kid, to actually injure me," Yuxin said coldly, stepping forward toward Luffy. "I’m curious—if I devour you, will I gain your powers? Such as this mighty flame or explosive strength? Ha ha..."
She laughed maniacally, then split into thousands of clones, all charging at Luffy.
"Bang bang..." Countless figures made Zhao Wushuang and Daokong gulp in shock. This was outrageous—how were they supposed to fight this?
"Divine Sword Thunder Control Technique."
---
Luffy raised his sword high. The sky darkened with heavy clouds. The array spirits outside the basement were startled by the sudden change.
Weizhuang slashed fiercely with his shark tooth blade, his aura fierce and imposing. Zhao Yun thrust his spear, dragons soaring across the sky. Cheng Yaojin swung his axe with the might of a tiger. Wuming’s sword strike was swift and silent.
In an instant, all the clones vanished, leaving only Yuxin disheveled in the wind.
"Young man, do not summon heavenly thunder, or the array will break, and the Nine-Tails will burst free from its seal," Weizhuang said sternly, stepping toward Luffy with commanding presence.
Zhao Yun advanced rhythmically with his spear.
Wuming approached like a hero with his sword.
Cheng Yaojin strode forward, axes in hand, fierce as a dragon and tiger.
"We will tell you how to deal with the Nine-Tailed Fox Demon’s clones, but you must help us reinforce the seal. It’s a win-win," Weizhuang said, his shark tooth blade gleaming gold.
Zhao Yun’s spear shone with golden light.
Cheng Yaojin’s axes radiated golden brilliance.
Wuming’s sword also gleamed gold.
Their faces bore smiles. They were the people, the heroes, the countless facets of existence.
They transformed into golden light, engulfing Luffy. They became a returning cloud, swallowing him whole. They were the legacies of ancient gods, capable of becoming thousands at once, more than just themselves.
Luffy saw a finger—a colossal finger emerging from the starry sky, a finger so immense it shattered planets with a single point.
How powerful that finger was! Luffy gasped.
A surge of information flooded his mind: the ancient god’s generation, a finger that could annihilate heaven and earth...
