Chapter 82 The Wang Family Patriarch
“How… how is this possible!”
The monster’s eyes bulged wide, its face frozen in disbelief, tongue tied, its gaze nearly splitting with shock and astonishment.
It spun abruptly and bolted to the side in a desperate attempt to escape.
That man’s swordsmanship was terrifying—he could summon heavenly thunder to wield as lightning.
How could such a dreadful sword technique exist? It defied all reason.
Heavenly thunder is lethal to all evil beings, no matter how powerful, and all such creatures are inherently afraid of it.
Moreover, Luffy’s sword technique was so powerful that the monster broke out in a cold sweat, fleeing into the room.
A sizzling sound echoed—
Luffy swung the Thousand Thunder Sword, charged with rolling thunder, down upon the monster.
A metallic clang rang out as the thunder struck the monster’s body.
Smoke billowed. The wretched creature writhed and shrieked, squealing like a pig being slaughtered, howling madly.
Under the relentless assault of heavenly thunder, its body twisted and contorted, finally reduced to a heap of blackened charcoal.
Smoke poured forth.
No matter how fast you run, can you outrun lightning?
The answer, of course, is no.
Luffy walked over to the pile of char, drew his Thousand Thunder Sword, turned the remains over to see if any crystal cores had survived—after all, the previous serpent was huge, at least fifth or sixth tier.
Unexpectedly, he found one—a sixth-tier core. He immediately stowed it away,
then turned and walked outside.
The dark clouds dispersed.
Luffy stood beneath a tree, waiting for the Wang family to arrive. The battle here had been fierce; it was certain they would come.
As he anticipated, a group soon approached—a middle-aged man leading several others rushed over.
This man wore a suit, his hair cut short, bearing an aura of authority that came from a position of power. He strode toward Luffy, while two subordinates dashed into the villa.
These two quickly returned, their faces grim. “Young master is dead.”
“Damn your whole family! Who the hell are you, daring to kill my son?” The Wang family patriarch glared at Luffy, his eyes burning with hatred.
“Who am I? That doesn’t matter. What matters is your son did something that made me want to kill him, so I did—along with that man in black. You want revenge? Want to kill me for your son? If you try, I’ll wipe the Wang family off the face of the earth.”
“You killed Jing? Impossible! You—”
Hearing that Luffy had killed Jing, the Wang patriarch’s pupils contracted sharply. He scrutinized the youth anew; Jing was powerful, yet he’d been slain by this young man. Clearly, Luffy had come prepared, and he’d never heard of someone so young possessing such strength.
“Prepare the laser cannon!” The patriarch’s eyes turned cold and sinister. No matter how strong the youth was, he must pay for his son’s death with his life.
“Target is locked.”
A reply came to the patriarch’s ear.
“Blast him to pieces!” he shouted. All the Wang family’s laser cannons trained on Luffy.
Five cannons roared, beams of searing energy engulfing Luffy’s figure.
“What an idiot! So arrogant, doesn’t even know the power of laser cannons, doesn’t even try to dodge. Not that he could—this is a laser.”
The patriarch laughed, imagining the youth’s body reduced to pulp. Daring to kill his son—he must die.
But his laughter stopped abruptly as the dust settled. He saw Luffy was completely unharmed, hands clasped behind his back, standing like a king, his clothes billowing in the wind—remarkably handsome.
The patriarch’s eyes widened in disbelief; the laser cannons had failed to harm the youth in the slightest.
It was utterly shocking.
“Uh, uh…” The Wang patriarch gasped in astonishment, eyes wide.
Luffy walked toward him. Today, no matter who came, they would die.
“Die!” A subordinate by his side drew a spear, shouting loudly. The spear vibrated with a domineering hum, thrusting at Luffy like a leopard pouncing on its prey.
A fierce gale swept forth.
Unstoppable.
“Leopard’s Bite!”
The patriarch shouted as the powerful spear thrust toward Luffy’s heart, forceful and unyielding.
With a swift motion, Luffy narrowly dodged, appearing beside the patriarch, his sword slashing at the patriarch’s head.
A metallic clang resounded—
The patriarch bellowed, “Tiger Pounce!” Twisting his body in a strange movement, he stabbed his long spear at Luffy’s descending sword.
Sword and spear collided, sparks flying.
The ground beneath Luffy and the Wang patriarch abruptly caved in, dust rising in clouds.
“Not bad strength… but I don’t want to play anymore. Where is your ancestor?”
Luffy spoke coldly. He had no desire to wait for the Wang family’s ancestor to arrive and face two opponents at once; it would be less amusing. He needed to finish this quickly. “Die.”
The sword in Luffy’s hand ignited with blazing flames. Suddenly, his figure vanished—the world turned black and white, a single black line shooting toward the patriarch.
Blood sprayed from the patriarch’s body.
Luffy appeared behind him, his sword dripping with blood, while flames erupted from beneath where the patriarch had stood.
The fire shot ten meters high.
The patriarch screamed, burned to ashes. Such was the difference in power—Luffy’s explosive force was not something the patriarch could compete with.
Luffy did not leave; the Wang family’s ancestor had yet to emerge. He had to eliminate all threats before everything could end.
Luffy was enveloped in dragon aura, which spread toward the villa of Wang’s young master. Wherever it passed, flames ignited. Several of the patriarch’s subordinates were engulfed by fire, burned to ash.
“Do you truly intend to eradicate us?”
A hoarse, aged voice echoed, cold and indifferent, startling Luffy.
“I won’t rest until every threat is removed,” Luffy replied seriously. “I hear the Wang family’s ancestor is formidable. I have no choice but to destroy you. Once you’re gone, I won’t kill any other Wang family members.”
“You have quite the audacity, boy. I’ve been watching you; by my estimate, you’re only at third tier, but you’ve cultivated powerful techniques, giving you this explosive strength. I didn’t appear because I wanted to see how long you could maintain this state. From what I see, you must be nearing your limit. When your power fades, I’ll come out and destroy you.”
The ancestor’s voice was chilling, sinister—truly cunning.
“So you’re abandoning your descendants, then?”
Luffy sneered at the old man’s words. Although his current state had a time limit, there was plenty of time left. He wasn’t afraid of the Wang family’s old master at all.
