Wen Yichen had never anticipated Jiang Muwen’s unusually strange expression; for a moment, the smile on his own face stiffened as well.

Looking at the clean ticket in Jiang Muwen’s hand and then at the stunned expression on her face, which seemed as if she had been struck by lightning, he initially thought she was just overwhelmed with excitement. Yet, even after all this time, her expression remained unchanged, leaving Wen Yichen somewhat at a loss. “W-What’s wrong?”

He watched the girl before him cautiously, wondering if the ticket he had painstakingly acquired was fake after all.

“I—I was going to ask you to go with me to Sean’s concert before the midterms,” Jiang Muwen finally spoke.

Upon hearing this, Wen Yichen froze.

The two of them wore the same expression, an inexplicable harmony captured on their faces.

Neither of them could have imagined that the birthday gift Jiang Muwen intended for Wen Yichen and the reward Wen Yichen planned to give Jiang Muwen had collided so perfectly. Now, together, they possessed four tickets.

A mysterious silence fell over the air. The golden-red sunset cast its glow on the tickets in Jiang Muwen’s hand, the gilded edges shimmering softly under the sunlight. Holding the ticket, Jiang Muwen finally whispered, “So, what do we do now?”

Wen Yichen stared at the ticket in Jiang Muwen’s hand for a long while before his deep voice finally reached her ears: “Sell the ticket to Wen Yixin.”

“Ah!” Jiang Muwen looked at Wen Yichen in disbelief. His older brother actually liked the same things as young girls?

Upon hearing this, Wen Yichen understood Jiang Muwen’s meaning. He naturally took back the ticket from her and said leisurely, “His girlfriend also likes Sean. She’s been begging me to sell the ticket to him for days.”

It seemed there was no need to keep the concert tickets, which Wen Yichen had guarded so carefully for days, a secret anymore.

“But…” Jiang Muwen watched as Wen Yichen took back the ticket, a flicker of doubt rising in her heart. “How did you get the tickets? They’re for the inner circle.”

Wen Yichen was momentarily speechless at the question. After a long pause, he answered softly, “They were grabbed officially.”

Jiang Muwen had been eagerly awaiting Saturday’s concert as if wishing on a star. For the seven o’clock evening concert, she had dragged Wen Yichen out since the afternoon.

When they arrived at the stadium, the entrance was already packed with fans. Stalls lined up, selling all sorts of merchandise—star memorabilia, concert souvenirs, dazzling and overwhelming.

Initially, Jiang Muwen hadn’t planned to buy anything, but then a bright red item caught her eye: a red arrow-shaped headband.

She glanced at the headband, then at Wen Yichen beside her, and a subtle, indescribable smile appeared on her delicate face.

Wen Yichen noticed the red headband and the smile on Jiang Muwen’s face. Though she said nothing, he could feel an inexplicable chill rising behind him.

The next moment, as expected, Jiang Muwen dashed to the stall, stretched out her small hand, and pointed at the arrow headband hanging nearby. “Boss, I want this.”

Before Wen Yichen could say anything, Jiang Muwen handed over the money with one hand and took the headband with the other.

She bought two headbands—one she wore on her head, the other she held carefully in her hand.

The girl stood obediently in front of Wen Yichen, holding the headband, eyes slightly raised with an expectant look.

Wen Yichen looked from the headband in Jiang Muwen’s hand to her face and frowned. He straightened instinctively. Though unsure of what she intended, he knew whatever it was, it probably wouldn’t cause any trouble.

Soon enough, Jiang Muwen beckoned to Wen Yichen, signaling him to bend down. Looking at him, her eyes held a hint of pleading.

“What for?” Wen Yichen didn’t comply, lowering his gaze to the girl before him, his eyes tinged with a faint but subtle caution.

“Can you bend down?” Jiang Muwen said, flashing an innocent, harmless smile at the boy.

“…”

“Just this once,” she added carefully, extending a single finger. She looked at Wen Yichen earnestly, like a child begging for candy. “Consider it your birthday gift.”

Her soft, tender voice was like a kitten’s gentle coaxing. Wen Yichen remained motionless, watching the girl test his patience time and again. If she acted coquettishly once more, he might just give in.

Sure enough, after several failed attempts, the girl cautiously stepped closer, pinched his sleeve lightly, and tugged twice. “Wen Yichen, I bought two, you know.”

Jiang Muwen’s voice was quiet, like a small kitten tentatively stretching out its paw, teasing Wen Yichen. He ultimately gave in. After a brief silence, Wen Yichen surrendered.

A trace of helplessness spread in his clear eyes, with a hint of tenderness even he hadn’t noticed. He bent down slightly, moving closer to Jiang Muwen.

Jiang Muwen’s pleading gaze vanished, replaced by a satisfied smile, as if a child who had begged for candy and finally received it.

However, the boy was tall. Even bending down, she couldn’t place the headband directly on his head. Reluctantly, she stood on tiptoe and carefully, reverently placed the headband on top of his head.

“All done.”

Jiang Muwen said, and Wen Yichen straightened up. He instinctively raised his hand to adjust the headband, gently tracing the curved shape of the red arrow perched atop his head.

Conspicuous as he was, anyone who glanced into the crowd would have their eyes drawn to the boy with an arrow on his head.

Wen Yichen seemed aware of the curious gazes from passersby. Every time someone walked by, they couldn’t help but take a second look, making him feel uneasy.

In the next moment, Wen Yichen grabbed Jiang Muwen’s hand and turned toward a nearby fast-food restaurant. “Let’s get something to eat first.”
