Chapter 132: It’s Not Like You Haven’t Seen It Before (First Update)
Jiang Muwen’s heart skipped a beat. She changed into her slippers and drifted toward the bedroom. The scent of medicated plasters grew increasingly pungent; before she even reached the doorway, she could already guess why Wen Yichen had summoned her today.
"Jiang Muwen?" Before she had even stepped inside, Wen Yichen’s voice drifted out—soft and milky, sounding just like a tiny puppy.
"Yes?"
"Prepare yourself before you come in," Wen Yichen said quietly, though Jiang Muwen heard him clearly.
*Prepare myself?*
She was puzzled. She didn't understand what he meant, and without pausing to overthink it, she walked straight into his room.
However, the moment she stepped inside and laid eyes on him, she froze. She stood rooted to the spot, staring at Wen Yichen, unable to collect her thoughts for a long time. Her eyes were filled with astonishment, and beneath that astonishment, a flicker of agitation. A second later, her face began to heat up.
Wen Yichen’s upper body was bare. He was sitting on the bed, sheepishly using a quilt to cover his front, but even so, it didn't stop Jiang Muwen from catching a clear view of most of his physique. The young man before her was shirtless, his "delicate shoulders" exposed to the air, a sight that made one’s imagination run wild.
After a moment, Jiang Muwen seemed to snap out of her daze. She instinctively covered her eyes. "Wen Yichen, you..."
"I did tell you to prepare yourself," Wen Yichen said, looking at her with an innocent, harmless expression, as if this hadn't been his intention at all.
That might be true, but who could have known that this was what he meant?
"Then what do you want me to do?" Jiang Muwen asked with her eyes closed. Before he could answer, she added, "Let’s get this straight: I don’t know how to give massages."
"..." Her words actually made Wen Yichen pause. A moment later, he let out a laugh. *Massage?* That was something only Jiang Muwen would come up with.
"I wanted you to help me apply a plaster," Wen Yichen said with a helpless smile. His low voice drifted into her ears, making her heart skip again. Only then did she slowly lower her hands from her eyes.
Her gaze landed on his smooth skin, then quickly darted away. She couldn't bring herself to look directly at him like this; she was worried she might not be able to stop herself from doing something reckless.
"Where is the plaster?" Jiang Muwen asked, her face flushed as she deliberately turned her head away.
"On the nightstand."
Once he said that, Jiang Muwen maintained her awkward posture and shuffled step by step to the nightstand. She picked up the plaster, then shuffled back to sit behind him.
Her movements were comical. Wen Yichen glanced at her, an uncontrollable smile tugging at his lips. He tilted his head slightly, watching the girl out of the corner of his eye. "Can you actually stick it on like that?"
"I can!" she replied without hesitation.
Despite her words, her hands were incredibly clumsy. After finally peeling off the backing, she fumbled blindly, trying to apply the plaster to his back. To avoid touching his skin, she held only the corners of the adhesive, attempting some unprecedented feat of applying it through thin air.
Her extreme caution was becoming too much for Wen Yichen to watch. "Jiang Muwen, you don't have to be so careful. I'm not made of tofu."
He wasn't made of tofu; he wouldn't shatter from a touch.
"I..." Jiang Muwen’s gaze fell upon his smooth back, and she stopped, wanting to say something but holding back.
After a moment of silence, Wen Yichen said softly, "It's not as if you haven't seen it before."
That single sentence made Jiang Muwen’s ears turn crimson. Her thoughts were instantly pulled back to the time she had seen him in the bathroom—every contour of his body was still etched clearly in her memory.
"Where should I put it?" she asked, her face burning as she deliberately changed the subject.
"Here." As he spoke, he raised his other hand and pointed to his shoulder.
"Here?" she asked, unsure, and reached out to touch the spot lightly with her finger.
As luck would have it, she touched the wrong place. Wen Yichen didn't think much of it; he simply reached out, took her hand, and guided it to his shoulder. "It’s here."
This contact completely threw Jiang Muwen off balance. Her palm pressed against his smooth skin, while the back of her hand rested against his warm palm.
Her heart trembled. Instinctively, she tried to pull her hand back, but as she did, Wen Yichen’s grip tightened in response.
The air fell into sudden silence. Both of their ears began to glow with a suspicious, rosy hue, and the atmosphere grew subtle and charged.
They both froze. Jiang Muwen stared blankly at Wen Yichen, while he sat there like a fool, not moving a muscle. Heaven knows what the boy was thinking in those few seconds; his own cheeks were slowly flushing red. His flustered expression was unexpectedly adorable.
A moment later, Wen Yichen’s fingers, which were holding hers, twitched. He hadn't expected this to happen today either—he had only tightened his grip instinctively, not wanting her to leave.
Wen Yichen found himself at a crossroads. If he let go now, as if nothing had happened, would it be awkward? But if he didn't let go, staying like this forever wasn't a solution either.
*What’s done is done.* Since things had reached this point, he might as well go with the flow.
They had known each other for so long, and besides, he knew clearly that Jiang Muwen liked him. Since that was the case, there was no need to hide anymore. Rather than continuing this hesitant, ambiguous dance, it was better to be bold, confess his feelings, and move to a new stage.
*So...*
*Confess.*
With that thought, his heart hammered against his ribs. He turned his head slightly to look at her through the corner of his eye. With his lips slightly parted, as if having made a monumental decision, he called her name.
"Yes?"
Seeing that he finally had her attention, Wen Yichen slowly loosened his grip. "Just put it on that spot. Once you're done, there's something I need to tell you."
