Wen Yichen stared blankly at Jiang Muwen. When he felt something warm beginning to trickle down from his nose, he immediately let go of her hand and rose from the bed.

Almost instinctively, he sniffed hard, hoping to slow the bleeding a little, but it did not seem to help. The nosebleed went on its own way, stubbornly running downward, and he could even feel the faint itch that came after the blood had begun to flow. He quickly grabbed a tissue, wiped the blood from his face, and only then stuffed the tissue into his nostril.

Who knew that simply looking at Jiang Muwen would make him bleed like this? If he had known it would be so humiliating, he never would have looked.

“Wen Yichen, are you all right?” Jiang Muwen sat up from the bed and, still holding the wrist he had just grasped, carefully took two steps toward him.

He was not all right.

Jiang Muwen came to stand beside him and had meant to check on him, but Wen Yichen turned away awkwardly. He did not want her to look.

Jiang Muwen had wondered whether he was bleeding because of her, but soon dismissed the thought. Perhaps there was another reason.

“Wen Yichen, why are you getting a nosebleed?” At last, unable to contain her curiosity, she asked.

After arranging the tissue in his nose, Wen Yichen casually made up an excuse. “I’m overheated.”

Could he tell Jiang Muwen that the reason he had a nosebleed was because he had thought of the kiss she had given him that day?

The answer was obviously no.

As he spoke, Wen Yichen pulled out the chair at the desk and sat down heavily. “Come here. Let’s do your homework.”

With that, he took out the assignment from his bag, drew a pen from the holder, and began writing as if nothing had happened.

Jiang Muwen glanced at him. The boy beside her wore a cold expression, and all over him lingered a keep-away aura that made her afraid to say anything else. She obediently sat beside him and stole a careful look at him.

The white tissue slowly stained red, the color spreading little by little.

Had his nose still not stopped bleeding?

“Hey,” Wen Yichen suddenly called to her.

“Mm?” Jiang Muwen’s heart gave a sudden jolt. Her gaze fixed tightly on Wen Yichen’s profile. The soft light outlined the sharp lines of the young man’s face, and as he sat still before her, he seemed like a painting.

“Don’t tell Wen Yixin about my nosebleed.”

His thin lips moved as he spoke, and every word carried a strangely forlorn air that Jiang Muwen found unexpectedly endearing.

“Okay.” She agreed without the slightest hesitation, a trace of amusement hidden in her voice.

Not long after she answered, there was a knock on the bedroom door. Before either of them could react, Wen Yixin had already pushed it open with great energy. “Kids, the dessert I ordered after dinner is here. Coming out to eat?”

The sudden voice made Wen Yichen turn his head reflexively. With that movement, Wen Yixin’s gaze landed squarely on his younger brother. Their eyes met, and after two seconds of stunned silence, Wen Yixin burst into wild laughter. Before Wen Yichen had fully reacted, Wen Yixin was already shuffling over in his slippers and cupping his little brother’s palm-sized face.

“Tsk.” After studying him for a moment, Wen Yixin asked gleefully, “What happened to you? Did you get hit by the charms of women?”

Wen Yixin looked at him, and as soon as he finished speaking, he noticed his brother’s face gradually growing warm. Seeing the red patch on the tissue spread outward a little more, he knew he had hit the mark. “Look at you. Your body is awfully honest.”

Wen Yichen was made so uncomfortable that he grew embarrassed. He lifted a hand and slapped Wen Yixin lightly on the stomach. “Get out. We’re studying.”

“All right, all right, I won’t disturb you.” Wen Yixin was still smiling. He turned away, muttering as he went, “Kid’s got promise. He’s studying himself into a nosebleed.”

After Wen Yixin had made such a racket, Wen Yichen was even less in the mood to tutor anyone. But since he had promised to teach her, he could only grit his teeth and force himself to finish explaining everything he was supposed to.

And so Jiang Muwen ended up receiving her first ever lesson that was all tangled up in confusion and had no clear focus at all. While she was still wondering what on earth was wrong with Wen Yichen today, her phone buzzed. She instinctively took it out of her pocket.

It was a message from Gu Nianxi.

How are you and Wen Yichen doing lately?

The instant Jiang Muwen saw it, she froze. Why was Gu Nianxi suddenly asking this?

Her fingers tapped lightly on the screen. After deleting and revising her words several times, she finally sent only a question mark. A moment later, she added, Why are you asking all of a sudden?

Gu Nianxi: You really still have made no progress at all?

Progress?

Jiang Muwen stared at the screen, her thoughts drifting slowly away. If they were talking about progress, did what happened today count as a little? The bed pinning him had felt like progress, perhaps. But on second thought, it seemed more like an accident.

Before Jiang Muwen could reply, Gu Nianxi sent another message.

My brother asked me today why that little boyfriend of yours looked at him so fiercely, as though he wanted to swallow him whole.

Gu Nianxi: So you two still aren’t together yet?

Little boyfriend?

Jiang Muwen stared at those three words, and her cheeks suddenly burned. Then her mind went blank.

It was the first time she had heard someone call Wen Yichen her little boyfriend, and the feeling it gave her was strangely, indescribably joyful.

After a moment, Gu Nianxi sent another message.

He still hasn’t confessed to you?

Jiang Muwen: No.

Gu Nianxi: If he won’t confess, then you confess. Either way, you’ll end up together, so who confesses really doesn’t matter.

That was true enough, but Jiang Muwen still hesitated as she looked at the phone screen.

Gu Nianxi: You’re not still tangled up over whether Wen Yichen actually likes you, are you?

Seeing that Jiang Muwen did not reply at once, Gu Nianxi sent another message.

I’ve been seeing a lot of vloggers lately recording their daily love lives. Why don’t you start one too?

Gu Nianxi: I think you could record your everyday life with Wen Yichen. It would definitely be sweeter than theirs.

Record her daily life with Wen Yichen?

Jiang Muwen’s heart gave a small involuntary tremor. Looking at Gu Nianxi’s message, her face showed no change, but inside she was already tempted.

I’ll try.
