"I'm saying that I can treat Mom's condition, so you don't have to be so upset," Chen Yang said confidently.

"You can treat it?" Qin Muxue’s eyes widened. "Chen Yang, this isn't a joke."

"Who’s joking with you? Even though this is a cerebral hemorrhage caused by high blood pressure, I can use silver needles to drain it and treat it," Chen Yang said with a serious smile.

Qin Muxue remained deeply skeptical. "Chen Yang, this is no laughing matter. Please, don't joke around."

"Why would I joke with you?" Chen Yang said, feeling helpless.

He felt helpless. Extremely helpless. Why did Qin Muxue think he was joking whenever he said something serious?

"Then how will you treat it? With acupuncture?" Qin Muxue asked, full of curiosity.

"Yes, though each case requires a specific approach. Let's go to Mom’s room and take a look," Chen Yang said softly.

Qin Muxue nodded quickly. "Okay."

She followed Chen Yang toward the patient ward. When they arrived, a middle-aged doctor wearing a mask and a white cap was performing a checkup on her mother. Several other doctors and nurses stood around the bed of her mother, Han Qin. It looked like... major surgery was inevitable.

Seeing this, sadness washed over Qin Muxue’s face again.

Just then, the middle-aged doctor finished his examination and looked at Qin Muxue. "You must be the patient's daughter?"

Qin Muxue nodded hurriedly. "Yes, that's me. Doctor, yes."

The doctor smiled faintly. "Don't be nervous. Your mother does need surgery, but it’s not an overly dangerous procedure. Craniotomy techniques are quite mature in major hospitals now."

Qin Muxue nodded. What else could she say? There was nothing to say. Absolutely nothing.

The doctor continued, "The patient's overall condition is stable. We will schedule the surgery for the day after tomorrow, or perhaps the day after that. Family members must be present to sign the forms."

"What forms?" Qin Muxue asked hurriedly. In truth, she was terrified, but she was trying hard to suppress it. To suppress it with all her might.

The doctor smiled helplessly. "Look how nervous you are. No need to be. If we proceed with surgery, it's just signing some standard contracts—a normal procedure."

"Muxue, it'll be fine," Qin Guoshan said, his heart aching as he saw his daughter’s fear. He tried to comfort her.

At that moment, Chen Yang couldn't hold back any longer. "Actually, does Mom really need surgery? I don't think it's necessary."

His words shocked everyone. The doctors were stunned. The nurses were stunned. Qin Guoshan, needless to say, was even more shocked.

Facing their incredulous gazes, Chen Yang remained calm. "Acupuncture will be enough."

"Acupuncture?" Upon hearing this, the middle-aged doctor, thinking of the patient’s well-being, quickly said, "Acupuncture? This is not a joke."

"This is my mother; I am not joking," Chen Yang said with a light smile.

The doctor knit his brows. Qin Guoshan did the same. He didn't believe Chen Yang either. Although he had seen Chen Yang use acupuncture to treat Su Xiaoling before, that was a minor ailment. This, however, was a major, life-threatening condition. Chen Yang wanted to treat a cerebral hemorrhage with acupuncture? He was crazy. He must be crazy!

"Chen Yang, do you even know what illness your mother has?" Qin Guoshan asked, clearly agitated.

"I know. Of course I do. It’s a cerebral hemorrhage, isn't it?" Chen Yang replied immediately.

"You want to treat a cerebral hemorrhage with acupuncture? Forget about these professional doctors—even to an outsider like me, that sounds absurd," Qin Guoshan said.

"Dad, don't worry. I know what I'm doing," Chen Yang said dismissively. He felt confident. Very confident. Extremely confident.

The middle-aged doctor, sensing Chen Yang's unwavering self-assurance, became curious. "Young man, what acupuncture method are you planning to use?" As a doctor, he had some familiarity with these techniques.

Chen Yang smiled. "My technique doesn't have a name. It’s just a matter of treating the symptoms as they appear."

"Treating the symptoms?" The doctor nodded, thought for a moment, and asked seriously, "So, young man, you are certain you want to proceed with this acupuncture treatment?"

"Yes. My partner and my father-in-law certainly don't want Mom to undergo surgery," Chen Yang said firmly.

The doctor nodded. Since Chen Yang was insistent, there was nothing more he could say. He nodded heavily and added, "Fine, young man. You may proceed. But I must state one thing: if the patient suffers any complications due to your acupuncture, the hospital will not be held responsible."

"I understand," Chen Yang said with a serious smile.

"Muxue, go buy me some silver needles," Chen Yang said, turning to her. He had considered asking the doctors, but he realized they were too afraid of liability to lend him equipment. If something went wrong during the procedure, the hospital would be implicated. It was easier to just have Qin Muxue buy them. Besides, it wasn't as if they couldn't afford it.

Qin Muxue understood his intent and nodded. "Okay." She turned and hurried out of the ward.

Not long after, she returned with a black cloth bag, which she handed to Chen Yang. He opened it to find the needles. With the equipment in hand, he didn't delay. "Alright, I'm going to begin the treatment. Could you all please step out?"

Qin Muxue was still worried. "Chen Yang, will there be any problems?"

"What kind of problems could there be?" Chen Yang said. "Don't worry, it will be fine."

"Okay," Qin Muxue nodded. Though still anxious inside, she restrained herself.

Soon, Qin Muxue, Qin Guoshan, and all the doctors left. Only Chen Yang and his mother-in-law remained in the room. He took her pulse for a moment and began to apply the needles with focus and precision.

Time ticked by. Chen Yang’s technique was confident, methodical, and earnest. After more than an hour, the session concluded. According to his plan, this first session was only meant to drain a portion of the blood from her brain. At least five more sessions would be required to fully clear it. It was a process. However, even with just this first session, her condition was now under control.

As Chen Yang was pulling the needles out one by one, Han Qin suddenly opened her eyes, looking at him with a dazed expression.

Qin Muxue and Qin Guoshan rushed through the door, with the doctors following closely behind. Seeing her mother awake, Qin Muxue beamed with joy. "Mom, you're awake!"

Han Qin frowned, still confused and seemingly unsure of what had happened. After staring at Qin Muxue for a few seconds, she spoke: "Xiaoxue, why am I here? What happened?"

Qin Muxue rushed to the bedside, took her mother’s hand, and explained everything. As she listened, Han Qin realized what had transpired after she fainted. She felt a lingering fear—it was truly terrifying. If Chen Yang hadn't treated her with acupuncture, the consequences would have been unthinkable.

Han Qin couldn't help but look at Chen Yang. "Chen Yang, am I better?"

"Not yet, Mom. You need at least five more sessions. Just stay in the hospital, get your IV fluids, and once I've finished the treatments, I'll take you home," Chen Yang said with a relaxed smile.

"What kind of acupuncture is this?" Han Qin asked, suddenly curious.

Chen Yang gave a wry smile. It was just too frustrating. Why did she need to worry about such details when she had just been so ill?

"Mom, what difference does it make if you know or not? It's just a standard technique. Why worry so much about it?"
