Chapter Sixty-Six How dare you touch someone who belongs to me?
Su Xiaoling looked at Chen Yang with disbelief, but he paid no mind to what she was thinking. He took out a silver needle and, with precision and certainty, inserted it into an acupuncture point on Su Xiaoling’s abdomen.
As the needle pierced her skin, Su Xiaoling suddenly felt her pain vanish. She opened her eyes wide, her face full of astonishment. After all, her stomach had been hurting terribly just moments ago, and now, with just one needle from Chen Yang, the pain was gone. It seemed almost miraculous to her.
Chen Yang then continued to insert silver needles into Su Xiaoling’s abdomen, each one hitting its mark with exactness. Qin Muxue, standing nearby, observed everything, her expression complex and thoughtful.
Chen Yang kept treating Su Xiaoling, and five minutes later, all thirty-two silver needles had been inserted. Smiling, he asked her, “Is your stomach feeling much better now?”
Su Xiaoling replied in surprise, “Yes, Chen Yang, I never expected you to know acupuncture!”
“Of course,” Chen Yang laughed. “Didn’t I tell you? Whenever I had spare time while delivering food, I would study medical books.”
He wasn’t lying. Over the past five years, he had learned medicine in bits and pieces during his free moments. Chen Yang considered himself a genius; as long as he put effort into learning something, he seemed to master it easily.
In short, he was gifted in whatever he chose to study.
Regardless, Chen Yang was confident in treating Su Xiaoling’s mild cold womb syndrome. It was a minor ailment—once the blocked points in her abdomen were opened and the cold dispersed, the illness would naturally resolve.
After about fifteen minutes, Chen Yang stretched lazily and turned to Su Xiaoling, asking, “Do you feel your stomach warming up now?”
Su Xiaoling nodded in amazement. “Yes.”
“That’s just right,” Chen Yang replied with a gentle smile.
He continued, “Alright, I’ll remove the needles now. Once they're out, your illness will be completely cured.”
“Oh,” Su Xiaoling answered softly, a hint of admiration for Chen Yang in her heart.
She truly hadn’t expected Chen Yang to know acupuncture, and even more, to cure her cold womb syndrome so effortlessly. Chen Yang had taught himself medicine, proving he was far from foolish.
After removing all the needles, Su Xiaoling felt utterly refreshed, sitting up with a smile. “Chen Yang, not bad! Your acupuncture skills are quite something.”
“Don’t call me Chen Yang, alright? Shouldn’t you call me brother-in-law?” Chen Yang felt that Su Xiaoling’s constant use of his name was a bit disrespectful.
Su Xiaoling was taken aback, not expecting such a request. She smiled awkwardly, “I’ve been calling you Chen Yang for so long; it’s hard to suddenly change.”
“Well, suit yourself. But if you call me Chen Yang again and your illness recurs, don’t ask me to treat you,” Chen Yang said, applying a bit of pressure.
Su Xiaoling’s face changed, feeling Chen Yang was bullying her. She looked to Qin Muxue for help.
Qin Muxue had already decided: it wasn’t a problem for Su Xiaoling to call Chen Yang brother-in-law. Constantly using his name did seem a bit improper. Smiling, Qin Muxue said, “Xiaoling, just call him brother-in-law—it’s just a title.”
Su Xiaoling looked embarrassed, thought for a moment, and said to Chen Yang, “Next time I’ll call you Brother Chen. Calling you brother-in-law all of a sudden feels strange; let me transition first.”
Chen Yang shook his head helplessly. Su Xiaoling could call him whatever she liked; he didn’t want to dwell on it. He calmly told her, “Don’t catch a chill tonight. For the next three days, avoid cold foods, drink plenty of hot water, and rest early.”
With that, Chen Yang picked up the cloth bag full of silver needles and turned to leave.
After Chen Yang left, Qin Muxue urged Su Xiaoling to rest early, then departed herself.
Qin Muxue entered the living room, her mind full of questions. She called out to Chen Yang, “Hey, Chen Yang.”
He turned to her, smiling slightly. “What is it?”
Qin Muxue gave him an appreciative smile. “I really didn’t expect you to know acupuncture.”
“Absolutely,” Chen Yang raised an eyebrow. “Your husband is not so simple.”
Qin Muxue rolled her eyes. “Why does your ego get so big whenever I compliment you?”
Chen Yang chuckled, “It’s rare for you to praise me—of course I have to make the most of it.”
Truth be told, Chen Yang preferred to keep a low profile. He was only teasing Qin Muxue; after all, communication between husband and wife shouldn’t always be so stiff.
Qin Muxue sighed, “Alright then, let’s go back and rest early.”
“Sure,” Chen Yang smiled gently at her and went upstairs.
Qin Muxue watched his retreating figure, feeling a bit lost. She wondered, Chen Yang used to want to share a bed with her, but recently he was so calm. Was she losing her charm? A pang of frustration hit her, and she resolved that, when the time was right, she would suggest sleeping together and see how Chen Yang responded.
In the blink of an eye, the night passed.
The next morning, Chen Yang had just arrived at the Huading Corporation’s office when Shen Donghua pushed the door open and entered, his face marked by a bitter smile. “President Chen, are you busy?”
“Not at all. What’s up?” Chen Yang looked at Shen Donghua, sensing his troubles.
When Shen Donghua remained silent, his smile forced, Chen Yang furrowed his brow. “Is there something you need to talk to me about?”
“Yes.” Shen Donghua sighed. “I do have something to discuss, but I’m debating whether it’s appropriate to bother you with it.”
Leaning back in his chair, Chen Yang laughed, “President Shen, you’ve become quite roundabout. When did you start talking to me like this?”
Shen Donghua’s face showed a hint of apology. “President Chen, that’s not my intention. I’m just considering whether I should trouble you. Alright, I’ll say it: I’ve been followed by a group of unidentified vehicles recently. I suspect someone’s out to get me.”
“Followed?” Chen Yang’s brow tightened as his thoughts immediately turned to the land in the northern suburbs. Someone following Shen Donghua must be connected to that property.
He thought for a moment and asked, “Are you sure you’re being followed?”
Shen Donghua gave a wry smile. “Absolutely, it’s been two days now. No doubt about it. But I can’t report it to the police, since I have no proof they’re actually tailing me. That’s why I’m telling you.”
“Is that so?” Chen Yang frowned, then became serious. “After work tonight, I’ll ride in your car and go home with you.”
Shen Donghua immediately understood. “President Chen, you mean you’ll handle this yourself?”
“Of course,” Chen Yang replied with a cold smile. “They’re following you in name, but in reality, it’s a move against me, isn’t it?”
Shen Donghua hesitated, worried that Chen Yang might get into trouble because of him. Yet, knowing Chen Yang’s abilities were deep and unfathomable despite his youth, Shen Donghua solemnly agreed, “Alright.”
At six o’clock, they finished work as usual.
Chen Yang got into Shen Donghua’s car and headed toward Shen Donghua’s home. On the way, Chen Yang noticed a black sedan trailing them. He memorized the license plate and said with a cold smile, “There really is a car following us.”
“Yes,” Shen Donghua frowned. “That black Honda Civic.”
“I see it,” Chen Yang replied calmly. “Don’t worry, I know how to handle this.”
Shen Donghua nodded, saying nothing more. He could sense Chen Yang’s confidence and was curious to see how he would deal with the matter.
When they arrived at Shen Donghua’s residential area, Chen Yang got out of the car. Though Shen Donghua insisted he come inside, Chen Yang refused, as it was not the time for a visit—he needed to resolve the issue of the tailing cars.
Watching Shen Donghua drive into the community, Chen Yang immediately called Lin Qianyao, giving him the license plate number and asking him to investigate who owned the car and which group it belonged to.
Lin Qianyao responded right away, leveraging his connections in Lanhai City to track down the vehicle. For Lin Qianyao, uncovering the origins of a car was a trivial task.
By ten o’clock that evening, Lin Qianyao called Chen Yang back, confirming the car belonged to a subordinate of a businessman named Wan Laiming.
Wan Laiming’s background was rather special—he was one of the eight major members of the Southwest Chamber of Commerce.
Hearing this, Chen Yang’s lips curled into a cold smile. So, after all the twists and turns, it ultimately led back to the Southwest Chamber of Commerce.
A plan formed in Chen Yang’s mind. After hanging up, he closed his eyes and rested.
Another night passed, and the next morning arrived.
Instead of going to Huading Corporation, Chen Yang took a taxi at nine o’clock to the gates of the Southwest Chamber of Commerce’s estate.
As he stepped out of the car, two guards at the gate spotted him. They quickly approached, and one tall guard asked, “Mr. Chen, what brings you here?”
“Cut the nonsense. Get Cui Shangkai out here,” Chen Yang said coldly.
Cui Shangkai was indeed inside the estate, but the tall guard tried to play smart, apologizing, “Oh, I’m sorry, President Cui…”
Suddenly, Chen Yang grabbed him by the throat. “I saw Cui Shangkai’s car right here, and you dare play games with me?”
The guard quickly pleaded, “Please, sir, calm down! Please, calm down!”
With a swift kick, Chen Yang sent the tall guard sprawling on the ground. Then he shouted, “Go get Cui Shangkai—otherwise, I’ll make you regret it.”
