That gaze was terrifying—too sudden and too intense, making An Qianqian jump in fright.

It was at that very moment Ye Luo realized she could control her body again.

She didn’t care that the surroundings were utterly unfamiliar, not her own room full of advanced technology. Without hesitation, she lifted one foot and kicked An Qianqian hard.

How dare she bully her—she must have a death wish!

A scream tore from An Qianqian’s lips as she doubled over, clutching her stomach, sweat beading her brow and her teeth chattering from pain.

She had always been the one to beat He Luo—when had He Luo ever struck back?

“He Luo, are you out of your mind? Do you have a death wish?” An Qianqian roared in fury, her composure shattered, intent only on charging forward to teach Ye Luo a lesson.

At last, Ye Luo could clearly see An Qianqian’s face.

She didn’t know why, but suddenly, scenes of being beaten by An Qianqian and ending up in the hospital kept flashing through her mind. Fueled by those memories and without stopping to wonder why, her expression turned blank as she leapt off the bed, dodged An Qianqian’s lunge, and positioned herself behind her.

Without sparing her a glance, Ye Luo seized An Qianqian by the back of her collar and, without looking back, dragged her toward the massive floor-to-ceiling window.

“He Luo! He Luo! What are you trying to do?!” An Qianqian shrieked as she was dragged backward, struggling in vain, panic finally overtaking her.

Ye Luo said nothing. With one hand, she opened the window; with the other, she threw An Qianqian out.

A terrified scream split the air.

There was a splash.

An Qianqian’s body crashed violently into the swimming pool below.

Ye Luo stood at the window on the second floor, her face devoid of expression, eyelids lowered, gazing down with chilling detachment.

Below, An Qianqian flailed in the water, crying and screaming for help, completely terrified.

The sudden splash and her cries startled the servants around the pool, who immediately began shouting for help, chaos erupting around the once peaceful villa.

Sensing a pair of eyes on her, Ye Luo turned toward the source and saw, by the marble path at the poolside, a man of striking, almost otherworldly beauty, leaning lazily against a car with his arms crossed.

His long legs, made longer by his pose, seemed almost unreal; the perfectly tailored black suit emphasized his tall, elegant frame, and beneath the jacket, a dark red shirt made his devilish good looks even more pronounced.

He exuded a wicked charm, the hint of a smile playing at his lips.

Those fox-like, phoenix eyes regarded her with amused interest, as if she were a curious spectacle.

Their gazes met in the air, but Ye Luo only returned his look with cold indifference before withdrawing her eyes without care.

Then, she turned and went back to bed.

Her head throbbed painfully.

She needed to figure out what was going on; everything here was far too strange.

Once the man saw the window was empty, he finally looked away, lowering his head with a faint smile.

He had only come back on a whim, but the little girl he’d never liked had just given him an unexpected surprise.

Song Linfeng, his special assistant, didn’t even notice his boss was smiling at a time like this. Staring in disbelief at the now empty window, he stammered, “P-President, that was Miss Luo just now, wasn’t it? Did I see that right? She seems… different…”
