Yan Baba was equally amused, but instead of coming over, he simply called out from his seat, laughing loudly, “Sister Luo, you might as well give up. “You’re so stubborn…” Ye Wuqi was exasperated and amused. “Whether I study or not, what’s it got to do with you? Why do you care so much? And while we’re at it, answer me this: why are you so nice to me?”

Ye Luo stayed silent.

“There you go again!” Ye Wuqi looked helpless. “Who taught you to be like this? Fine, fine. Since you’re doing it for my sake, I’ll make a concession. If you can get first place in the next monthly exam, I promise I’ll study hard. How about that?”

Before Ye Luo could reply, Yan Baba burst out laughing, “Hahaha, Brother Qi, you call that a concession? That’s even less likely than getting into college!”

Ye Luo replied, “We’ve already agreed—if I get first place, you’ll study hard.”
