Chapter 65: You’re Quite an Interesting Person
Qin Zhaowen spoke gently, “Then deduct it from me.”
Chen Chen was so furious she laughed, “You’ve already had yours deducted! You’ve never broken any rules, so you have lots of points, but every time he breaks the rules, they deduct yours. Don’t you ever wonder if you have enough points for him to keep deducting? Let me tell you, you’re almost rounding up to two hundred and fifty!”
Qin Zhaowen fell silent.
“Damn it! Who are you calling an idiot?” Finally, the hot-tempered Qin Zhaoyu exploded. He kicked the trash can, instantly breaking it.
After kicking the trash can, he looked ready to beat up Chen Chen.
“Xiao Yu!” Qin Zhaowen hurried to stop him.
Chen Chen, used to this, calmly opened the rule violation log and began recording, “Senior Science Class 19, Qin Zhaoyu, September 18th: Littering, minus one point; flamboyant attire, severe impact, minus ten points; broke one trash can, minus one point and fined fifty yuan.”
“Damn it, every time it’s you stopping, stopping, stopping! What the hell are you stopping for!” Qin Zhaoyu shoved Qin Zhaowen aside, shouted angrily, then stormed off.
Qin Zhaowen quickly pulled fifty yuan from his pocket and handed it to Chen Chen, reminding her, “Deduct all the points from me—no matter how many, just don’t deduct from my brother.”
With that, he hurried after his brother.
Chen Chen closed the logbook, tucked the fifty yuan away, and smiled at Ye Luo, “That’s just how they are. Once you get used to it, you’ll understand.”
“Mm,” Ye Luo answered, then asked, “What did you want to talk to me about?”
She remembered Chen Chen had said she wanted to speak with her.
Chen Chen naturally hooked Ye Luo’s left arm as they walked toward the classroom building, smiling as she said, “I heard everything from Gorilla. He said you want to be first, so Qi-ge will study hard. Do you really like Qi-ge that much?”
Ye Luo said nothing.
Chen Chen took her silence as consent and chuckled, unable to help sighing, “I admire you. If it were me, I wouldn’t dare say that. It’s senior year, the key moment in life; studies should come first. Even if you want romance, you should wait until college, not now.”
“So this is what you wanted to tell me?”
“Of course not! Actually, I wanted to say—no matter your reason for wanting to be first, studying hard is never a bad thing. But you need to work within your limits. I won’t lie to you; you know your grades yourself. Whether you can get first place, it’s not just us who know—you do too.”
Ye Luo didn’t argue that she could be first; she simply found Chen Chen’s straightforwardness refreshing.
Chen Chen continued, “If you have any questions you don’t understand, feel free to ask me. The college entrance exam isn’t until next year—there’s still plenty of time. I don’t expect you to be first in the monthly exam, but I hope you all get into university next year. Maybe if you start working hard now, you’ll make it.”
“No need, thank you.”
“Huh?” Chen Chen was surprised; she hadn’t expected Ye Luo to refuse. “Why not? Having someone help you with questions you don’t understand—isn’t that a good thing?”
Ye Luo truly wasn’t good at socializing, but she knew Chen Chen meant well, so she repeated, “No need, thank you.”
Seeing how insistent she was, Chen Chen didn’t press further, nor did she force her. Instead, she smiled, “You’re quite interesting. You want to be first, but refuse guidance. This first place…”
She trailed off, just shaking her head with a smile, making it clear she thought Ye Luo had no chance at all.
